LG 47LD690 stuck on LG boot logo, standby light flashing.

    Hi,
I've got LG 47LD690 which not get past the startup screen.
Stays on LG logo (see pictures), standby light (red corner) flashing.
Remote works, I can switch the TV ON and Off using it.
Is there anything what I can do other then buying new main board, please?
Any reset, service menu, eeprom reset etc...
    Thank you for any help.

Many people have had similar faults and reballing/reflowing the BGA tends to sort it out.

        The one in the center.
The fact the heatsinks doest cover the whole chip may also have lead to an early failure. If reflowing it works I'd recommend using a better one.

I have the 42LD490 which uses the same board, failed hdmi ports and no sound. Reflowing the shitty XD engine Cpu (centre Ic with half a heatsink) sorted it-common issue with Lg XD ic's is bad bga solder as they fail to heatsink them properly, a reflow should get it going. Fucking Lg shit.

No worries, also remove the heatsink and apply fresh thermal silicon to hold it down on the Ic after reflow. Maybe add a fan, these bloody processors get burning hot quick.

                      Hi,
                      Success!
Reflowing the XD engine Cpu fixed the problem with main board.
                      Everything working as it should.
Thank you very much for all support.
                      Regards.

Thanks for the update and glad a reflow fixed the problem.

Just to give everyone a heads up but a re-flow is not a permanent fix and usually won't last more than 6 months up to a year before failing again. If you are going to be selling these tvs back out or if you are doing this for a customer, I would highly suggest going the re-ball route even though it is a lot more involved and difficult, it is the only way to do it ethically.
