I got this for free last night. Not sure if it is a bad panel, tcon or mainboard.

So I didn't see the panel was made by Samsung. I thought you just made a mistake in typing it.Comment

Re: Sony kdl-52xbr4 bad panel?
To me it doesn't matter the manufacturer. Those tab bonds do fail, or someone cleaned the screen and the water ran down. I revived an old Sanyo TV like this before. After 2.5 years, another tab bond (on the other side) failed same way. So we gutted it and chucked the rest as the TV was 10 years old with 25000 hrs on it and replaced it with something newer.Comment

by mmartellMy goal here is to be able to use boards on hand to swap into faulty sets when the faulty board is not obvious.
I will start by asking what is the format of the output from the mainboard and is it generic in any way or does it vary by manufacturer and/or model ?
And as far as I know a tcon and panel must be a matching pair because the timing of the signals and the voltages required to drive the panel are specific to the panel itself. (That may be a blanket statement that isn't true in some cases where the panel creates its own sub-voltages on its panel boards?)...01-06-2024, 01:32 PM -
by iglitareHi,
i want to repair a Sony KD-75XF9005 TV that initially only showed a grey picture.
Backlight seems to work, Sound (Setup menu after reset) works.
If i dissconnect the left FFC cable from TCON to panel i have half a screen on the right. If left cable is connected always only the grey screen.
Interchanged the cables, its always only the right side that is working. Always grey if left side is connected.
With my small knowledge i would think at least the cables are good.
Can this happen because of a bad tcon board?
Or is it always a bad/shorted... -

Tv powers on and input is able to be selected/used, but the on screen menu closes as soon as it is opened and the there are some periodic "glitches" of the on screen menus in relation to position and size. I have tried all the system resets, but because the menus are not usable, i was unsuccessful. Does this seem like a panel issue? Odd that it only affects the menus and not the main input picture. I have already tried disconnecting front panel buttons assuming one was stuck down causing the input to continually be scanned or similar.

by r3vsEngIT65x900h with the panel from a 65x930d.
900H: model yr 2020, Samsung panel
930D: model yr 2016, Innolux panel
spec wise the panels are the same. the drivers and tcons are obviously different but what made me want to give this a try is that the wiring diagrams for the data signals going into the tcon for each tv were nearly identical. there are only a couple pins that i am unsure about and that is what brings me here.
the 930d has the DPS board where the 900h has none, however, if you follow the pins to the BM1 it would appear that the signals...07-11-2023, 11:11 AM -
Hi All,
Need help.
I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.
So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard.... - Loading...
