    Bad panel or bad mainboard? Visio E601i-A3

    Visio E601i-A3
    Tv powers on and input is able to be selected/used, but the on screen menu closes as soon as it is opened and the there are some periodic "glitches" of the on screen menus in relation to position and size. I have tried all the system resets,but because the menus are not usable, i was unsuccessful. Does this seem like a panel issue? Odd that it only affects the menus and not the main input picture. I have already tried disconnecting front panel buttons assuming one was stuck down causing the input to continually be scanned or similar.

    Please excuse the backlight blinking, i was shooting slow motion. The flash of "No channel in master list" at top of screen is what i'm referring to
    Mainboard = 1P-0128J00-4011 Rev1.1

    Stick a firestick on it and see what happens.

    I'm not sure how a panel would effect the menu .. to me doesn't seem right to say panel but I am unsure. But do try a firestick or something and see if it runs fine

      Ruku works just fine, Not seeing any video distortion on boot logo or on input signal, Only seems to be related to OSD. Can't find a factory reset sequence or firmware either, may be SOL on this one.

        General Questions on the Relationship Between Mainboard, TCON and Panel
        by mmartell
        My goal here is to be able to use boards on hand to swap into faulty sets when the faulty board is not obvious.

        I will start by asking what is the format of the output from the mainboard and is it generic in any way or does it vary by manufacturer and/or model ?

        And as far as I know a tcon and panel must be a matching pair because the timing of the signals and the voltages required to drive the panel are specific to the panel itself. (That may be a blanket statement that isn't true in some cases where the panel creates its own sub-voltages on its panel boards?)...

        un60j620dafxza - Samsung No Display Problem
        by stylishconsultant
        Hi All,

        Need help.

        I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.

        So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
        problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
        might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard....

        LG 49UJ6500 LCD panel lighter band that goes away
        by howardc64
        49UJ6500 LCD panel has a lighter band on top when first powered on. Goes away (or gets much fainter) after TV on for a few min. After powered off for awhile and power back on, same band appears. If powered on immediately after powering off, no or much fainter band. Running the latest firmware.

        Disassembled the TV and lifted the LCD panel during testing. Band is on the LCD panel (can see the band on the panel as I lift it slightly) Backlight is perfectly even at the top edge. Double checked LCD panel alignment in the frame and is perfect but since band moved with the panel, its on...

        Can I use different VESTEL panel on mainboard?
        by Aivar1988
        Is it possible to replace any part at all in a Vestel TV with a slightly different part?
        For instance a screen panel - VES650QNTB-2W-U11 <-> VES650QNTS-2D-U11
        Or a mainboard 17MB130P for any other 17MB130P as long it had the same screen size or even the same screen panel? For example I have a 65" JVC and can I replace it with a 65" Telefunken or Hitachi mainboard. Will I need the new remote aswell? And is it possible to install the JVC firmware onto the new mainboard later?

        Missing LCD Panel Voltages VGH, VGL, VCOM (TCL 55P6US Sound & Backlight but NO Picture)
        by maneatingmonkey
        I have a TCL 55P6US with sound and backlight but no picture. This model does not have a T-CON board, and the right (rear perspective) panel board is fed from the left panel board. I have not been able to induce any change by disconnecting the secondary panel board or the tape cut-off method on the primary board.

        There are a bunch of voltages missing on the panel boards. I can't find any shorted caps of the panel boards, and all of the missing voltage rails read in the kiloohms, which leads me to suspect the issue may lie on the circuit board, rather than a short in the panel.
