All the menu does it change the times between sustain pulses, are all voltages like Vsc running at the correct spec to the panel ?

Increasing the brightness probably just moves pixel data between sub fields affecting how each subfield is balanced.

This is a z-sustain fault regardless of what the voltages do, there is no one voltage that controls the brightness. In fact on most plasma TVs the voltages will stay steady under 90% of picture conditions, only changing when the scene gets significantly darker (as subfields are dropped because of lack of picture brightness) or significantly brighter (as subfields are stunted by the ABL control.)

Some older LG plasmas would turn off Vzbias when the picture went black as you don't need it for priming, only for full discharge. But not aware of any modern sets that do this, due to the delay in pumping Vzbias back up (enough to cause momentary maldischarge)

          Yes all voltages perfectly stable.
Im going to try changing the fet driver controller chips (8 pin) next. Since the zsus boards are not available anywhere.

Put the oscilloscope on the outputs of both zsus fet driver schips.
One is show busy square wave.
Other is a flat line. Assuming the flat one is faulty.
Ordered a complete repair kit. Will post results later.

HP Envy 13-BA1565na BIOS for potential fix!
              by themosttogain
Bit of a weird one here...I have this HP Envy which has an odd fault. Basically the power button doesn't turn the device on. However, immediately after a BIOS reset, it will turn on from battery once, and it'll continue to tun on from mains quite happily, first time every time for a few hours (but will not power on from battery at all). After a few hours, the button will become increasingly unresponsive again even with mains connected. I've replaced the battery, even though there were no signs of a battery problem, and the issue remains. From reading another post on here, the experts were...

ASUS ROG SCAR 16 (G634J) - intermittent freezing
              by DarkAngelz195
Hi guys, this is my first post on here so please be gentle.

I have this ASUS ROG SCAR 16 - G634J laptop that keeps on freezing intermittently, showing a red blinking battery light, resulting in a frozen screen, unresponsive keyboard, only a hard reset will bring it back on. I will say that due to the frequency of it happening now it is really hard to try to load up any monitoring software etc.
Now here is the thing, I have seen at least 5-6 posts around on reddit and ASUS's official forums with individuals all having this exact issue. My bet is that its something to do with...

HP Envy 13-BA1565na with intermittent power button
              by themosttogain
Hope someone can give me some suggestions on this because i'm at my wits end with it...

I have an Envy 13-BA1565na here with an Intel Core i7 i7-1165G7 CPU (board is a LA-J475P Rev 1.0) which has an intermittent power button issue. The power button is integrated into the keyboard, and I have ruled out the keyboard, BIOS and battery as being the issue.

Basically, on mains power, the power button works fairly well. The first time you come to it after leving it sitting (either on charge or not on charge), it might take 2 or 3 presses of the button, but then the laptop boots...

              Hofmann geodyna 6300 Wheel balancer
              by Grouickman
              Hi there,

First, I'm not sure it's the right section to post for this type of device, but could not think of something better.

Ok, so my son (a mechanic) bought a faulty Hofmann Geodyna 6300 wheel balancer (which appears to be mostly a re-branded Snap-on wheel balancer).

I'm looking for any resources (doc, manuals, schematics) that would be available for this device or anyone that would have any knowledge on this particular device (or its Snap-On equivalent).

I'm trying to diagnose the fault(s ?), but I can't find any schematic (appart from the...

Having a hard time dumping BIOS - Lenovo Ideapad Duet 3 (11IAN8)
              by anton brunner
              Hello everyone,

I'm having a hard time dumping the BIOS of a Lenovo Ideapad Duet 3 (11IAN8). The chip is a Winbond W25R256JVEN, directly soldered to the board in a WSON8 package.

Since there are lots of tiny components near the chip, I was hesitant to desolder it using hot air. Instead, I soldered thin wires directly to the chip's pads and connected them to a CH341A programmer (photos attached).

The chip is detected correctly in both NeoProgrammer and ASProgrammer, but I'm unable to get a consistent dump. I've tried over 15 times — shortened the wires to...
