    How long will lg led work with 1 led out in 2 light strips., whats this spot ?

    Just replaced 2 strips that were shorted open , tv plays great but has one light out in two other strips , will it play awhile like this. Doesn't affect picture much. Also I have this dark little spot shown in pic could it be trash behind the lcd on diffuser plastics.its right above the e in picture. My first led !

      The Led is shorted, the whisker inside is shorting out from anode to cathode. It will work and last fine matey, but be sure to turn down the backlight to help stop others dropping.

              I may not have used the right term but when I said shorted open I meant I replaced a strip that the whole strip died and was not lighting up. Any ideas if trash on white panel can show up on lcd.

                  does like like a piece of dirt between the diffuser plastics layers but hard to say and is it worth the risk of disassembly again.

                      Turn down the backlights as Reecey has already said.

                      The #1 cause of LED backlight failure is that they are turned up all the way. I run my backlights never higher than 75%. Never had any issues on any of the screens here.

                          Hi guys,
                          I have one very old TV.
                          Main problem I have with this tv is that led strips won't light.
                          I measured voltage levels, and inverter input is 24V.
                          other voltages are also ok.
                          What I found is that removing and connecting again connector CN1 led strips lights for shorts time (but only once). When led strips lights up then light is uniformly spread on whole panel.
                          First I thought that led strips are dead, but I'm quite sure that problem is not strips related.
                          I don't know what voltage level is at output of inverter board (samsung SSL400_3E2A) and how...

                          Problem

                          This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

                          Hi,
                          I have an NVA-001 Ps4 Pro with long blue light of death, visual inspection looks fine apart from dust and the very dried thermal paste which I cleaned and replaced, I scoped the board around for any shorts on capacitors and there were none, no blown fuses either. Looking under a thermal camera, southbridge gets warm along with APU and phases for the APU. I cannot tell if RAM is too cold? maybe not powered? but RAM chips are all the same temperatures. At this point I removed NOR and enabled UART to diagnose further. The only thing I get from UART is this following message:

                          Hello guys,

                          As per title says I have a Envy 15-FH0501sa , Ryzen 5, 16 Gb version.
                          Motherboard number is JPB51 LA-M798P rev.1.0
                          SN CND3362R3S

                          The laptop is getting power and funs stop spinning after few swcconds. It was liquid damaged so we get it to turn on. However 3 long and 2 shor Caps lock lights showing. Power button turns the laptop on but not off.Battery is charging.
                          Please help and advice. I attachet the bios dumb in case the bios is the problem.

                          Hello.
                          I received a bios locked 7410 with 25Q256JVEQ ,i dump the bios, unlocked it and flash it back, since then the laptop has no life signs at all except amber led on for as long the power button is pressed, nothing else.
                          Fact #1 i was unaware that 25Q256JVEQ is 3.3v and i used a 5v CH341A to program it, not sure if the chip got damaged but since then i can read it and write it normally, doesn't seem dead.
                          Fact #2 i modded the CH341A to 3.3v, same results with programming though, nothing changed.
                          Fact #3 i tried hard reset with cmos/main battery disconnected and power...
