    Vizio E701i-a3 Backlight issue

Thanks for looking. I have a Vizio E701i-a3 tv that when turned on the backlight comes on for a second or so and then turns off. I do get an image when shining a flashlight on the screen (the message says RGB signal not detected, TV will power off). Another note, the backlight goes out while the Vizio logo is present after TV power on. I have replaced the power supply board with the same result.

This TV has three pairs of wires that power the LEDs. Since I do not have a wiring diagram, the only thing I could do is to remove each pair, one at a time. I still got the same result, no backlight.

Is there any possibility that the mainboard may be the culprit?
    Any other ideas?

    Thanks again,
    Michael.

It could be a Backlight issue as the LED Driver will shut down with an open LED or if you disconnect a string of LEDs.

I was afraid that might be the case.......just hoping that it could be something else.....makes me a bit nervous taking a panel apart. Like a bull in a china shop.....lol. Thanks guys, appreciate the input.

I purchased replacement led strips (all 3) and they tested good when I hooked them up. I am a bit nervous about disassembling such a large panel assembly. Has anyone done this or have access to the instructions on how to properly disassemble and replace. This is one time that I would prefer some instructions than figuring out being that it is such a large panel. Thanks again for your input.

not to take you back a bit too far.... but did you try disconnecting the tcon cables (one side or the other) and see what happens?

I plugged in the replacement LEDs in the place of the original ones and they light up and stay lit unlike the original which would seem to prove that one of the LED strips in the TV is faulty. Just not looking forward to disassembling the panel.

Vizio M70-D3 4K with dark spots backlight issue
                      by Yanleb
I have a Vizio M70-D3 4K with a dark spots backlight issue. It is using the Y8387248A backlight driver board.

On this model each of the 64 transistor powers 2 LEDs. Using my TKDMR TD3H backlight tester I've determined that the backlight LED strips were the issue, and the backlight driver board was just fine. Some LED pairs required 5.9 volt at 155mA, some required 9.5 volt and some were completely open.

I've removed the LCD panel and once the LED strips were exposed I've tested them again by connecting my LED tester directly on the test pads. To my surprise all, I've...

                      Vizio m601d-a3 backlight issue

Hello, I'm working on a Vizio m601d-a3 with a backlight issue that I am having a difficulty diagnosing it. As it sits, the tv powers on, displays the Vizio symbol and with nothing hooked up it will then display no signal but you can only see half of the screen. I know it's a back light issue because the picture is there without light behind it, as I can see it by doing a light test. I've taken off the paneling and done a visual inspection. If I disconnect the tcon ribbon cable to the affected side then the entire half of the screen goes away. I've checked voltages at the LED driver from the main...

                      TCL 65C715 backlight issue
                      by Cornito
                      Hello team,

                      I'm back with another topic.
It's a 65C715 TCL tv with backlight issue.

But the problem is a bit strange.
When I took this tv from the marketplace backlight didn't work but picture was ok.
Back at home I checked with led tester if led are alive and I can find something different in term of voltage supply => nothing

Putting all back together the tv worked fine for weeks. => Contact issue??

Few moment later the tv has started to have backlight issue back, turning off and on worked sometimes and tv was working....

I just recently purchased a RZ09-01652 Razer Blade 14 Touch v4(2016) as a project. I suspect the original motherboard had overheated and caused board damage to the vrm's for the CPU and GPU as now that motherboard works however will lockup on you often due to hardware clock issues.
So after some research and looking at options for replacement motherboards I got a replacement RZ09-01952 razer blade 14 motherboard which has the 1060 vs the 970m that was in my original motherboard. I have contacted the seller about the motherboard being bad however I doubt they will be...
