LG LED - need help with diffuser order after reassembly

    model: LG 50LN5100

backstory: picked up tv at local dump and diagnosed unit to have a bad led strip. unit was apart for 3 months before i got around to repairing it.

problem: i cannot recall the order of placement for the diffuser panels.. the way i assembled it the screen is dark and has a poor viewing angle..

does anyone have any insight as to the order? im so mad at myself for this gaff. i have never gone panel deep to repair a tv before and didnt take into consideration the importance of the order

    thanks a lot

I wish I could help you, bud. I just repaired a 50LN5300 but I removed the back off the panel instead of the other way round so I wouldn't run into this problem.

Some here have insight into the different layers and will be able to help you.

Can you get hold of another set from the local disposal and break it down to see how they have stacked the diffuser etc.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

in general all LED backlight. direct LED the first plate will have one micro lens surface and other side mat. lens surface should be down faced LED

side or up down led panel sets first plate will have white reflection white type clues / color on the opposite side of the strips. also mat side always on the top forward LCD

other layer are color filter will be amount regards to side wholes,, never missing úp

Did you get an answer to this? I just replaced the LED's in my LG 50LN5100 and I may be able to help.

I have the white spot issue where the plastic reflector has fallen off of the LED. Since my TV is out of warranty, I disassembled it to glue the fallen reflectors back into place. Unfortunately, I did not note what order and orientation the hard plastic and 3 flexible diffuser sheets go in for re-assembly. What is the correct order? I know the hard plastic goes first, but does the smooth side or the textured side face the reflectors? After that, which sheets go in which order? Thank you!

There is this video that has a shinny sheet between the two opaque sheets

and then this one that says the thick sheet that has the bumps facing the 3 diffuser sheets (opposite the led's)

                  Here's the order.

The 2 clear sheets in the middle could be reversed which would cause the problem.

The LCD panel in that pic is on the opposite side thou. The sheet nearest the LCD panel in that pic should be the one right above the backlights then consecutively inline with my picture.

Thank you for the replies. There seem to be 2 similar "shiny" sheets that go in between the hard plastic and the top sheet. They have different sized tabs on the side with one being wider and the other being the same width as the tab of the top sheet. Does it matter what order these go in? Right now, I have the hard plastic on top of the LEDs with bumpy side facing up, then the shiny with the wider side tab, followed by the shiny with the skinnier side tab and lastly, the non-shiny sheet.

I'll look again tonight since the LG I'm working on is still apart for LED repairs.

Hello I have not been on here in a long time. I was curious if this was ever solved because I have the same problem. I have a LG 50UH5500/5530 and for got the order of the diffusers. I should have taped them like I saw in the vid posted but I didn't realize there would be this much time between disassembly and assembly. Thanks for any help. Jim

I had asked the same question and got NADA in replies, but this YouTube helped me out..

                          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7z7lXrI1vbs&t=65s

I think the larger sets have these edge cut-outs to help direction and not order, so the notches have to line-up.

                          Hope it helps,

                          Martin

                            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

                            Hello,
I'm trying to repair a UE50NU7022KXXH with a cracked diffuser/lpg and now also with burned leds
There are 4/5 white spots on the bottom that are not visible since the left side is dark now so I want to change the diffuser/lpg

Looking the samsung spare parts, I see that there is a DIFFUSER PLATE and a LPG so I'm wondering what is really broken?

Hello all, new member here. I replaced the LED strips and found that the BL can be turned on with the TCON board and LCD panel disconnected. So new LED strips are working fine. Now the problem. There are 3 diffuser sheets on this set. One sheet is thicker than the others and I know it goes in first next to the LED strips. But one side of this sheet has a rougher texture than the other side. Does the rough side go up or down? The 2 thinner sheets have tabs that will only allow them to be installed one way so that's good. One sheet is what I would call plain translucent. The other sheet is whiter...

SAMSUNG UN60JU7100 - Order of LED light diffuser sheets when re-assembling TV

I recently replaced an LED strip in my SAMSUNG UN60JU7100 TV. I managed to do that with little difficulty.

My problem is that I did not mark the order of the 3 diffuser sheets that go between the LED lights and the screen.

                            There a 3 sheets

1 thick white opaque plastic (about 1mm) with a smooth side and a rough side

2 silvery translucent ones about the thickness of card stock
                            A. One that is the same on both sides
                            B....

i have a 65" samsung UN65TU700DFXZA. my kid sprayed cooking oil from a spray/mist bottle onto the screen (2yr old thinking she was cleaning). oil ran down and seeped under the bezel on the bottom of the screen. It appears to have soaked/wicked into the diffuser i have a light colored splotch along the bottom of the screen that grew upwards over a day or two.

i have not disassembled yet but judging by the way it wicked up it looks like its been absorbed into the diffuser so i don't have a lot of hope of cleaning it.

i checked Samsung parts site but they don't...
