SAMSUNG UN60JU7100 - Order of LED light diffuser sheets when re-assembling TV

SAMSUNG UN60JU7100 - Order of LED light diffuser sheets when re-assembling TV

I recently replaced an LED strip in my SAMSUNG UN60JU7100 TV. I managed to do that with little difficulty.

My problem is that I did not mark the order of the 3 diffuser sheets that go between the LED lights and the screen.

    There a 3 sheets

1 thick white opaque plastic (about 1mm) with a smooth side and a rough side

2 silvery translucent ones about the thickness of card stock
    A. One that is the same on both sides
    B. One has a more mirror like finish on one side.

When i reassembled my tv the screen had a faint checkerboard effect with 8x14 lines (the same as my LED pattern 8x14 lights)

Obviously, I them in the wrong order.

Can anyone offer information on the order of the sheets and which way each sheet should face?

When I disassemble a TV, I tape the sheets together with masking tape in one or two places to prevent getting dust in between the layers which can easily be overlooked, but can seriously affect image quality if dust or even a single hair gets trapped between them when re-assembled (ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT ON 4K TVs)

I never usually separate the diffuser sheets from one another but I don't think their order matters so much as their ORIENTATION. Their intention is to scatter light in the appropriate directions. If you really have separated the sheets, you should have the following: one thick supportive sheet closest to the LEDs, and 3 or 4 other thin sheets (one should have diagonal striations oriented from bottom right to upper left, one should have opposite direction diagonal striations from bottom left to upper right, and one should have vertical or horizontal striations).

It is important that no two sheets have the striations in the same orientation or light is not being scattered correctly (such as overlaying the diagonal sheets with striations in same direction instead of opposite to one another)

Absolutely, the thicker heavy one shall sit closest to the LEDs since it rests on the panel supports and supports/prevents the thin sheets from drooping.

I think the mirrored finish should face the inside of the panel but the thin sheets should be "keyed" to prevent them from being installed upside down or backwards.

Try to look carefully at all the sheets. Sometimes one corner is "clipped" which tells you that all of the sheets need to have that "clipped" corner at the same spot. This is very easy method of ensuring that all sheets are the right side up and not flipped or backwards.

    I hope this helps.
