Re: 17PW26-3 Issue: Flashing Blue Light on TV
Got a service manual to see which pins has what voltage? I've place my multimeter (-) where the black wire goes and probe the rest with (+) and got 5v and 6v. No 12v nor 24v.Leave a comment:

Re: 17PW26-3 Issue: Flashing Blue Light on TV
Wait there a second, unolug the Mb from the psu and apply power to the Tv. Check if you get 24v and other voltages like 12v and 5v from the Mb connector first to see if the Psu is working.Leave a comment:

Re: 17PW26-3 Issue: Flashing Blue Light on TV
Just saw this. Ok, replaced IC806 and BD140, both of which are brand new but same flashing blue light. Would the main av board has anything to do with this?
Is that IC806?Leave a comment:

Transistors and mosfets are not always interchangable due to their characteristics. What part numbers did you take out and what part numbers did you use to replace them?Leave a comment:

17PW26-3 Issue: Flashing Blue Light on TV
This board came in with no display. Replaced few caps and was well. About a week later, tv returned dead; no power, nothing. Looked inside and yellow oval (in picture) was shorted. Replaced it and fuse blew (red). Replaced green and fuse stood strong. The new issue is that the blue light on tv just kept blinking/flashing. What is needs replacing?
I've took the transistors from an old board. Do I need new trans (green oval)?
The TV: Hitachi 42hxt42u

by cajoegHello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.
The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV... -
by GadjetI have a system I'm repairing that came in for overheating, which also had a busted USB port in the back.
Reapplied new liquid metal to the system and got the BLOD.
I then found a bad Fuse on F3501 and replaced it.
My client also found out that the system had fallen, and that's how the USB port was broken.
I found a short on the cap in the photo, but the cap isn't shorted off the board. The cap isn't shorted on the board if I remove the black chip next to it (I think it's a diode, not sure), or if I remove the inductor.

Have tried published resets with no help. (unplug for 10, push on-off for 30, push menu and vol +, etc.)
After being plugged in, red light comes on. Push power button and blue light comes on for ~five seconds then goes out. Power button does not turn the unit on a second time - have to unplug/re-plug before power button will try to start with blue light.
No sound, no picture (used flashlight test).
No bulging cap, no burn spots, no burn smells, nothing visual (cold joints/breaks/bugs).
