Lg 50LN5600 no video but audio is good.

Looking for help on LCD TV problem.

No video but with a flashlight it can be 'seen. When I power the Tv up,the Lg symbol displays for a couple seconds, then disappears. After troubleshooting, I replaced the main board as it was suggested . I still have the same problem.
When it powers up the backup lights glow for a second and then turn off.

Can somebody tell me how to determine what's wrong with a digital multimeter?

You almost certainly have an open LED.
Very common is the LN and LA series.

Difficult repair If youve never dismantled a TV before.

Seen it before, I can verify that it's bad LEDs. If you want to test them, after disassembling, the board the input voltage for each strip(two strips connected in the middle) is 24v DC. Half a strip turns on at 10v DC but will only work if you bridge the connector in the middle(It will be two traces that slide into the other board). It's less than 400mA btw.

Is taht your wpoer supply LED driver board? If it is, it has two LED driver circuits to drive two set s of LED strings.
You will need to test the Voltages at both LED+ and both LED- pins.
You will leave the black probe on the chassis, then put RED probe on one of the two LED +, THEN turn on the TV to see how high the Voltage goes up to and then wait for 5 seconds to see how low it drops down to, do the same for the other 3 pins and report the readings, we will not be surprised if it is not due to bad LEDs.
BTW, Voltage feeding the LED+ should be around 111VDC (with load).
We also need to see the pictures of your boards.

                        Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
                        by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

                        Hey everyone!

I've gotten this TV for free, neither have it seen a TV repair man, neither have it been opened before.

This post describes my entire troubleshooting process of this TV.

When I turn it on using the ON/OFF switch at the side of the TV, the light rapidly flashes green, then it stays on, but it does not react to any of the remote buttons, side buttons, and doesn't play audio.

I've taken the unit apart, and I've started to check some voltages:

                        • On the P11 connector, there is 15V DC only for a brief moment, then it goes

Onkyo HT-R390 no sound output, video output ok
                        by FrancescoV
                        Good morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

The firmware reported is the following:
                        M:1.00/11107BLP
                        D:?.??/????????
                        O:1.00/11107AL

The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

On the BCHDM-0678 - 25140678 - QPWBCHDM0678A0 board the chip that usually seems...

So, laptop was with dead cpu, replaced. Now everything works except i have problems with audio. The problem is related with long audio cable that from one side is plugged in the motherboard and on the other side is connected to audio daughter board that goes on the top of the laptop(behind screen). The symptoms are:

                        1. In bios everything ok (with long audio cable on connector j3701 connected or not),
                        2. With windows installed everything ok if long audio cable on connector j3701 is not connected,
