Anyone know what could be wrong with this Plasma TV?

I'm thinking of buying it for repair but would like someone's opinion. Its a 51" Samsung 3D TV

All I know of are these lines, other than that he says it functions great and a while back had it *calibrated*

    Any ideas are much appreciated!

Looks like a buffer failure to mean. Ceck out the buffer ics for pitting, burn spots, or holes.!1

probably would want to get the model and search for common faults. Looks like buufers but I think there were some late models where the panel ribbons chafed and wore through on the chassis in which case not repairable.

Panel failure, I would say its not fixable. The ribbon connections from the buffers break off at the glass. Dont spend a penny on it imo.

How can you guys be sure without knowing the model number ? Is this particular fault spread across all 51" models ?

I think wires are crossed here. I believe mmartel may be asking how you reached that conclusion for his own benefit so that he then knows what to watch out for in diagnosing a bad panel.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Exactly. Just looking for the reasoning behind the conclusion that's all.

Yes common issue on all Samsung Plasmas..... Ydrive ribbons break off at the panel right near the glass guess its just a fatigue thing from them being cheaply bonded.

                        Hello,
I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
Opened TV cover & observed foll
                        a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
                        c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.
How to confirm Y -Buffer board...

                        Panasonic plasma TX-P42ST50 - 6 blinks

                        Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults...

Picked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.

When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.
Copper coils had no sign of corrosion on...

Please tell me where I'm going wrong with hot air!
                        by G-Gamer
So I'm trying to get into micro soldering, repairing tech etc.
I bought a load of equipment, The YIHUA 853D 2-in-1 station, 1080p Microscope with 10", I do not have low-melt or leaded solder yet, I have tried flux 'paste' in a tube, very liquidy seems to blow away, I've tried flux paste in a tub, still no luck.
I have tried 3 different boards, a router, an Xbox One Fat and now a Pi400, none show ANY signs of melting solder, components don't budge.

                        My method:
Preheat board with hot air (Small nozzle as it's directed, as I'm told) at 250c
                        Apply flux to component...

Lenovo Thinkpad 20LT-S0KL1G bricked after writing the wrong eeprom
                        by jordi90
                        Hi,
I was given a laptop with a BIOS locked by a password. I read that one way to unlock it is to read the EEPROM contents, patch them, and write them back. I was using the typical CH341A programmer and clip to do this, but because the clip is so loose, after patching the dump I accidentally placed the clip on the wrong EEPROM and now the laptop won’t boot.

Can I do something to fix it? I’ve attached photos.

                        ...
