    TX-P50G20B with 8 blinks

    HI, have a TX-P50G20B with 8 blinks.

I thought my issue was the SS board but once replaced it still blinks 8 times. However when i remove the SS33 cable of the SS board the Tv blinks 6 times.

A service guide i was kindly provided then shows the next board with an issue may be the A board, but i have since purchased a replacement and this has not cured the issue.

I am guessing the next board would be the SC board but this is not listed as being as issue for 8 blinks?

Is there a way to test the panel to see if it lights up and will work prior to replacing more boards.

I will have a go at checking the voltage on the weekend on the SC board, I have already removed all the connectors and given them a clean and replaced.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Well if the sc has failed Q661 is usually shorted. So probe that and let us know if it is

Well, I'll put these quotes here so we can see the story from start.

I really hope it is not a filed Panel, out of interest is there a way to text to see if the panel is good before spending money on boards?

      Thank you

have you used search yet to see if there is any history?

Don't get many 8 blinks, can't remember if I've read more than one on this series.

There should be some results tables for results expected with different boards and cables removed in that guide

It does say disconnect ss33 if it still shuts downs check ss, c2 board and A-board connections if good , A-board,

Have a good look at those white ribbons just in case there is corrosion, I had a HD 2010 model give me 8 blinks due to corroded ribbons.

You can disconnect sc2, ss11, p35, and the 3 white ribbons to turn the TV on and see if it errors. It should turn on . If you do this, don't reconnect sc2,ss11 and important not P35 for a good 5-10 mins due to voltage still stored, or get a meter and check those first . Spike p35 and can fry the panel ribbon ICs.

When i removed all the above cables the tv did turn on, well the green light came on but the screen was black.

Do you think this now excludes the A board as being the problem? I have replaced the SS board to one i believe is good, so based on the guides you attached most likely failed is 1 SS board, 2 A board and 3 panel! I hope it is not the panel!

Once this has discharged i will have a good look at the cables before plugging them back in.

        I have just tested this use a multi meter and the results are a follows;

        Using the 2000k Ω setting
        Pin 1(+) & 3(-) = 002 Ω
        Pin 1(-) & 3(+) = 002 Ω
        Pin 1(-) & 2(+) = 128 Ω
        Pin 1(+) & 2(-) =145 Ω
        Pin 2(-) + 3(+) = 136 Ω
        pin 2(+) + 3(-) = 145 Ω

        I am presuming the pin outs as;
        1. Gate
        2. Collector
        3.Emmiter

either way I think this is not working as its giving me reads from every pin option!

Am i correct?, if so are these parts easy to source or would it be easier to buy a new board?

definitely easier to get a board. GTV Watford sells genuine kits if you wanted to have a go. It does involve SMD work so unless you're reasonably experienced at soldering some of those tracks tear easy.

Going on what you put up Q661 is shorted, you will most likely find most of these shorted.

give you an idea what you're replacing.

Can always sell the dead board for someone to repair or treat it as a project

OK thank you guys, I think I am pretty good at soldering as i used to do it for a living (manufacture) but if there are multiple components that may fail i will buy a new one.

1 issue may arise, one of the screws connected to the buffer board was stuck and I didn't risk remove it as it felt I was about to round the head!

That's unusual. Never had a stuck one. Is the screwdriver the correct size?

That guide has the resistance checks for the SD/Su, check those if you have not already.

I believe it is the correct sized screwdriver, it removed the other 3 screws with no problem. I have since tried a few other screwdrivers, I guess i will use some pliers to give it its first turn.

OK I will have a look at the guide now.

                    Hi All,

I'm a recently new member and would like to say hello to you all, and that I'm thankful to have found this forum with a wealth of help and information.
                    The than my introduction to the forum;

I have some issues with my Panasonic TX-P50G20B. Firstly can someone point me in the direction for the service manual for this model. I've found a service manual for the TX-P50G20E and the TX-P50S20B. Would these be accurate for my TX-P50G20B in the UK.

From reading the 2 service manuals listed above, to get the Power LED to blink with a code, do I have to be in the service mode?

If someone would be kind enough to reply, I will then be able to elaborate on the issues I'm suffering with this unit.

Thank you in advance for any help.

                    Regards.

                    Dizzwold.

The error code flashes of the red standby led should occur as soon as you switch the TV on (after a brief green led).

                          by Asraf Atb
                          Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with this issue before I give up on this TV.

In short, I replaced the T-CON board due to an error code indicating that was the problem, after which it flashed a green and orange LED meaning software update required. I cannot get the tv to do the required update via USB, so I am stuck.

Here is a rundown of the symptoms and the steps I have taken to troubleshoot:

I inherited the TV with the symptom that it would turn on, then turn off after 5-10 seconds and a red LED flashed 4 or 5 times. Sometimes it would be 4, sometimes...

Does anyone have an idea of what might be the issue with my 3050 micro? I have tried replacing new cmos battery but still the same

I am not sure if its the powersupply that I'm using is the issue since its the original powersupply. its a laptop powersupply with the same specifications with the 3050 micro so i guess it should be fine.

i also tried replacing the bios but with no avail, everytime i try another bios it gives a different blinking lights

Any recommendation on what I have to do next? Thanks in advance
