Now,on most samsungs what you do is disconnect the cable between the logic board and the mainboard, then make a short between 3&4 on the logic board, right top of board. Then plugin the tv,it should now display a variety of test displays.(on some you need to hit the power button).
Try that, with vs and va giving those voltages I'd say power supply is working yes.

Disclaimer: I don't know a whole lot about this model. Merely trying to help you to narrow down the problem board and some basic tests till somebody with more knowledge jumps in

Thanks for the reply. When disconnecting the main board and logic board, and shorting pins 3/4, nothing would display on the TV. When leaving the boards connected and shorting the pins, the tv came on as normal, but did not display any test displays.

Given when trying this, the TV is resting on the floor (no stand) and I am unable to press the power button. So I was trying to use the remote, could that be the reason for not getting the testing screens?

I found out the IR sensor was likely blocked when I had it on the floor.

The more I look into this problem, it appears to be a possible firmware issue. So I just reset the TV and have it on at the moment. Will wait to see what it does/doesn't do. Maybe update the firmware if problem persists and see if that fixes it.

Otherwise I will reattempt to get the test mode working if resetting doesn't work.

          --Update--

Resetting the TV got it to stay on longer. Each time I left it on, the duration that it stayed on, seemed to decrease. The TV is up to date on firmware, and obviously did not let me downgrade the version.

Just reattempted shorting the 3/4 pin (and found the thread for it). When doing that, with the cable removed connecting the logic board to the main board, it displayed a series of colors. Started white and then cycled to through blue, red, etc. Without doing anything, the TV did turn off during this process. I also reattempted it a few times, and the TV did the same thing (I believe how long it stayed on for, decreased each time too). Not sure if the pattern or order of colors matters.

          Thanks

cool,so main, logic board,sn,buffers and x main seem to work ok.
Back at the power supply. Or logic board but most likely power supply.
Saying that time it stays on decreases almost makes it sound like heat sensitive.
Have a can of air? If held up side down it sprays freon, thus freezing a target area. Got a hair dryer? I would heat up the powersupply in lets say a 1/4 area of the board and see if it shuts down sooner. Once area is found that seems heat sensitive, you can then use can of air upside down to freeze that area and pretty close target the component.
Try that also with the logic board, those BGA chips sometimes let go and then need a reflow.

Thanks for the quick and detailed response. I will give this a try tonight. Do I have to worry about any condensation from the compressed air?

Re: Samsung PN60E6000GF 60" Smart TV turns off, red flashing power light

Now the TV is just trying to mess with me..

Last night I tried the blow dryer and heated the power board and main board separately; each for about 5 minutes. The TV did not turn off during this time. I then found out it had a default 15 minute timer to shut off if no input. I turned that off, and played a 90-minute video off a USB. The TV stayed on the whole video and stayed on the whole night (about 9 hours). From here, I figured it was fixed after the reset and was just being stupid about that 15min timer. I put it together and remounted it, for it to only turn off at random intervals again. Now it turns off after about 2-5 minutes, and I have tried to reset it again, without success.

One time it turned off after it was reset (during the setup process), but the sound was still present (just no picture). Not sure if this helps to determine which board it could be.

Also, it does not seem to decrease in duration now. It could stay on for 60s, and be turned off (after unplugging it) and then be on for 2 min.

Thanks and I appreciate the help so far.

See the silicone "blob" on the bottom of the power supply board ?
Remove it and clean the area with denatured alcohol then
re-solder the pins of the regulator IC.
                  HTH.

Are you talking about the silicone blob "1" or "2"? Do you think it has to be replaced or just resoldered? Thanks

Okay. Working on it now. And sorry for my ignorance, I just only saw a relay, an inductor, the 275v relay. Plus what looks like a green resistor? Did not see what appeared as a regulator IC, hence why I asked.

There appears to be components legs going through the power supply board from top to bottom and then connecting to the opto-isolators. The strange thing is I would have thought they would have soldered these components in because other componets on the bottom of the board are left with a very thin copper track to these IC's because of the hole drilled out out the centre of the pads. I think it would be worth doing a continuity check.

Remove clear "blob" on the solder side of board ( area #2 )
Leave white blob on component side alone for now !

Yea I should've known you meant the solder side. I am almost done cleaning the area but here is a picture. Although I am not 100% certain which solder joints are for the regulator IC. On other areas of the board, they seem to be denoted with a "Q" but I do not see that in this case. Highlighted is the 3 pins I believe could be for it, but again, not certain.

Edit - now that I look at that region, I am not even sure those are for it, as the upper solder joint of the triangle appears to be connected with the solder joint to the right of it.

I see what you mean. There appears to be a wire on the flip side that connects two of the legs of the opto-isolators. When I was searching more on these, it seems like they should be tested against resistance rather then continuity. The continuity 0's for a few leads but the resistance varies from each pair.

Use an old toothbrush and alcohol to clean area.
                                  Pins are two offset rows.....
                                  Take another pix when clean....

Ooopps! Evidently the removed blob was not covering the pins of the IC !
Can you take a close-up pix of component side beneath area 2 ?

Not a problem as I know it's hard to tell from just pictures. Took a picture of the front and the back, for comparison. Let me know if you need a closer up picture.

I know there are a lot of repair kits sold online for the Samsung power boards which contain these regulator IC's. Do you think they just need resoldered or replaced? Is there a way to test them without applying a input voltage?

PS: It does look like there is some corrosion on the QS802, think that is the issue?

                                      Thanks

Pix of component side divided in four quadrants ( half / half = too large )
So, four pix should show with magnifier....
