I believe you bought a bad main board from flea bay. Don't even bother with that one, just waste of time. Sorry, but you got hosed on that deal. Put in your main board and go from there.

With all the original parts, installed correctly, there is no way by pressing the button on the front that the TV turns on, so all voltage rails are up, correct?

That means the main board isn't sending PSon. We know the PSU is good. So it can be only the main board, since it isn't responding to anything you do (buttons, remote etc.).

PSU 100% okay.

my question which need real answer.. did you get at home main power sparking ? how this TV get this fault ??

T-CON very sensitive with such spark !!!

Rockit711 here are the readings with the original main board and everything is plug in.. i get no backlight and no LED standby. fig3

It only at 0v when the main board from ebay is install. I have contacted the seller and he accept the return so that board will be gone.

Diah, yes the B5V are at 5.34v I will check on that. and i haven't try the hot gun yet.

Diah here in florida we get alot of rain and thunder... it was raining that day with lots of thunders.. When i got home the electricity was out but then came back on later during the day and i found out that the tv won't turn on after that. So i figure it has to be a power surge with those thunders.

Ohh i see, sorry to hear that.. its of sure spark go in the main boards via the areal or cable . so the processor which are ready for power on also responsible on video signal. let hope the T-CON still work.

please disconnect the LVDS from T-CON. and put signal to the TV and turn on so check if you get any sound ?

Capleaker, that is correct. With all original installed and plug in i get no respond from the remote and or power button on tv no backlight and no standby LED.
Yes i agree with you. Somewhere on that main board it doesn't send a signal to the PSon because i got 0v for that reading from the main board and on the power button mini board

The 3.3V is missing off the main board and surely the reason why needs to be established?
Can you post a really sharp picture of the main board so the components can be seen and read.

Doesn't PS_ON get pulled low to enable the other outputs from the power supply in Samsungs? PS_ON is high on all the measurements, so shouldn't it just be the A5V(I assume this is the standby) that has an output voltage?

the Original Boards give PS_ON only when LVDS disconnected from T-CON. the EEPROM MTK i think build in chassis its ALL IN ONE, it give video to LVDS, and its give PS ON and it communicated with IR section, it had spark, let hope this MTK had crack join solder, heating it very well if not help only replace board the answer.

I think you ignored my point there.

If PS_ON is high (as it has been in all the measurements provided, at least when they aren't all just 0v), shouldn't b5v, b12v, vamp etc all be 0v (with the exception of standby voltage output)? Shouldn't these other rails only come up once PS_ON gets pulled low by the main board?

If you disconnect your power supply from the main board and connect PS_On to GND using 1K resistor can you check if all the other voltages are still available?

The following picture shows two voltage regulators and it would be worth posting the voltages on them. LD1117AG & 1117-33Z

Dick_barton.. those are measured at 5.2v when everything is plug in.

The 1117-33Z is a 3.3V output regulator and the 1117AG is an adjustable voltage regulator so I would expect all 3 pins on both devices to be giving different voltages?
