Does anyone know how to rollback the firmware in an LG TV without using the screen on the TV? I need to rollback the firmware but can't see the menus to change the DNS to fake it into to a downgrade.
Is it because you installed a Wrong F/W in the first place--maybe looking for additional features that chassis did not come issued with....?
(Seems endemic--Ive seen a few sets lately that have been 'Upgraded'--And Bricked in the process--Never ends good after that....)
Only proper way is to pull the EEPROM and re-load with a flash-tool with the Correct F/W if you can get it, Not easy or quick as it'll be a SMD device.

I am actually trying to use the board for another TV. They changed the firmware for one model. If I can revert the firmware I would be able to use this board in another TV that doesn't have a panel short.
Thanks for assuming I installed the incorrect firmware for this board.
What I need is a list of command to use and a way to get into these prompts for then TV in a linux platform.
I am thinking of using something from openLG to allow me to modify the firmware in a power only environment.
Yes I have the TV connected VIA RS232 Serial to USB
If anyone can get me some advise on a script or program to use for LG TV's that would be helpful.
The TV functions properly including the remote and sound. The only problem is the LCD panel is shorted on both sides and I can get a screen to come up to downgrade the software using other methods like DNS changing and faking it into think there is an upgrade.
