I have this TV with a shorted LCD panel. I can not see the screen. What I am trying to do is change the firmware version. If I can roll back one version with the firmware, I can use the main board with another TV.
I have the TV connected with RS232 to USB to computer.
I have read about Broadcom firmwares and loading custom versions. It is basically a shell command from my understanding.
Does anyone have experience with loading firmware from your computer with Putty and BusyBox

Re: LG 47LW5600 Firmware Rollback - No Screen
The TV functions properly including the remote and sound. The only problem is the LCD panel is shorted on both sides and I can get a screen to come up to downgrade the software using other methods like DNS changing and faking it into think there is an upgrade.Last edited by hackintoshx86; 04-17-2016, 02:02 PM.

Re: LG 47LW5600 Firmware Rollback - No Screen
I am actually trying to use the board for another TV. They changed the firmware for one model. If I can revert the firmware I would be able to use this board in another TV that doesn't have a panel short.
Thanks for assuming I installed the incorrect firmware for this board.
What I need is a list of command to use and a way to get into these prompts for then TV in a linux platform.
I am thinking of using something from openLG to allow me to modify the firmware in a power only...

LG 47LW5600 Firmware Rollback - No Screen
Does anyone know how to rollback the firmware in an LG TV without using the screen on the TV? I need to rollback the firmware but can't see the menus to change the DNS to fake it into to a downgrade.
Any suggestions?

Re: Intermittent Power On LG 47LV5400-UB
Okay, after the last few days of playing around.
All voltages on the power supply test good. I also swapped the power supply for a known good one to double check.
The main board seems to be the problem. Where do I go now that I know the voltages are good going into the Main.

Re: LG Main Board Swap 47LV5400 with 47LW5600
Am I wrong to assume that it will work based on the same power supply and T-Con board? I have looked in detail thanks to shopjimmy at the boards for both TVs and they appear the same..... Sort of....Last edited by hackintoshx86; 04-11-2016, 07:18 PM.

LG Main Board Swap 47LV5400 with 47LW5600
I am looking for some help with this one. I have never exchanged model numbers.
The Power Supply Board and T-Con board appear to be the same for both models.... Can I swap the Main Board from 47LW5600 into 47LV5400?

Intermittent Power On LG 47LV5400-UB
This is my first problem post. If I miss something please forgive me.
I have an 47LV5400-UB (OCT 2011) that only turns on occasionally. When it has problems, it turns on as if the TV was booting as normal. The LED light stays on. The screen stays off with no backlight or sound.
If you cycle the power a few times it may come on. Once on, all appears as normal. Inputs all work. Except the picture "flashes" every once in awhile on the home screen.
An LG Repair person did a house call and said that the Main Board was the problem.
I have...Last edited by hackintoshx86; 04-10-2016, 02:15 PM.
