    Lg 42LE4500-ZA no backlight

Hi everyone. Got my friends tv here trying to sorted but up to now costing money "as usual".
    It is an LG 42le4500-za
It was showing logo and after that blank screen.
After reading on some truble people has had with this TV
and after having checked the voltages which apart from led failing once blank screen comes on,every other voltage it was fine.
So I thought could probably be led driver board so I got another power supply and having same problem but just noticed that the led lights are off but there is picture on TV
Now what is my next step plz? Thank you

Yes. When I first turn tv on with multimeter on it shows 108v then when screen goes blank drops down to zero

Any idea plz? Is it another faulty power suply (led driver) or my led's are bad? If led's are bad why does it works for a bit?

Can we see the whole back side of the TV? Pictures of the power supply LED driver board?
What DCV do you get for the BL-ON and the Dimming Control pins?

Picture is too out of focus for me to read the model number of the board.

Can you please take the different angle so I can read the pin labels for both LED connectors P205 and P20??

This TV has 8 strings of LEDs with 8 LED drivers circuits so we need to check the DCV of each strings.

Based on the pictures, you need to check the DCV on those pins.
The DCV at A, F, G, and L should show about the same DCV.
The DCV on B, C, D, E, H, I, J , K (these should be the LED strings Cathode returns) you will have to leave the red probe (black probe on the chassis) on B then turn the TV on and record the DCV reading, then turn the TV off and then move the red probe to C and do the same thing again, eight readings you need to do.
I still need the pictures so I can read those pin names.

BTW: P/n: 3PCGC10008A-R is for the black PCB number, the PCBA is on the barcode sticker on the board (not on the sub LED driver board).
                              Pictures provided by shopjimmy.

Your PCBA has 8 drivers, the pictures attached has 12 drivers.

LG PCBA EAY60803101 (3PCGC10008A-R) Power Supply / LED Board fitted with 12-string drivers.

In UK here and spent £50 on that board. Just wanting to know if that is also faulty so I could send it back. Unles I need to take screen apart and check the led's are ok but why would they come up if they were faulty?! Thanks for helping out anyways.

That is why I gave you the instruction to read those Voltages on the LED connectors.
And if you loo k to the left of the black connector P201 you will see the chart showing which pins are for.
Looking at the top side of the board you will see the ODD pins assignment.
                                  For example PIN 1 is PWR-ON, PIN 3 is 20V, PIN 5, 7 are GND, PIN 9, 11 are 3.5V

                                  Pin 18 is DRV_ON (BL-ON), Pin 22 is PDIM1.

I have just done that. There is very changeable.
First reading is when aply power on then 2nd reading when led's are on then 3Rd reading when led's turn off

Look at you B (2) reading of 1.6V compared to the 7 readings (2).
I would say you have LED problem.

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

                                          Hello,

                                          I am having a problem with a ASUS VH238T.
The monitor started by just going blank, but the integrated speakers, and the backlight worked. The OSD didn't pop up, neither did the messages of DVI No Signal, nor the Asus logo.
Turning off the monitor, and turning it back on made no difference. But leaving the monitor off for a few hours returned the monitor back to normal. The problem will eventually return after a couple of hours.

Today, it started exhibiting another symptom: the display started showing a white image, that didn't take the whole screen....

Guide me through repairing a Dell p2210f LCD ccfl backlight monitor
                                          by DanPoka
I bought this p2210f dell monitor to fix. Schematic is the same as p2210.
Behaviour is that monitors comes on but then backlight switches off almost instantly. If I look with flashlight I can still find the "No signal message". So definitely a backlight issue. Trying to advance the issue I proved that the protection circuit is switching off the backlight by shorting out C3 and resistor to disable the INL chip then re enable by removing the short.
This is where it gets interesting. When I disassembled the monitor to solder leads on c3 capacitor I noticed the backlight flickered...

                                          Hello all,

Am trying to figure out this backlight issue with this A1990 Macbook Pro.

                                          Tests performed:

There is no backlight even with a good screen.
Backlight IC is receiving the correct support voltages.
                                          Fuse F8400 ok
                                          Current sense resistor R8400 ok
Backlight IC is receiving 3.3V on enable pin.
Backlight IC receiving voltage from PPBUS_G3H, aprox 12.5V.
Backlight IC receiving 5V from PP5V_G3S
Backlight IC BKLT_SCL and BKLT_SDA both measure 0.545V diode mode to ground
                                          I2C_BKLT_SCL and I2C_BKLT_SDA both measure...

Hello, got an iPad Pro A2378 12.9 5th gen with no backlight. Got another test unit without screen, tested the screen, still no backlight with the test unit.
Figured out the backlight on the screen was bad, ordred a new backlight from mobilesentrix, *carefully replaced it* without damaging the lcd, oh well.
Final result, issue is still there, the screen has no back lights. So i'm back to square one, with 3 hours less and 100$ out, issue still on the screen.
The panel is still ok, i can see the apple in the middle of the screen when it kicks in, just no backlight.
                                          Anyone...
