Re: RCA TV no picture, replaced all boards. Backlight ok
Here is the overall picture. The tcon board requires some disassembly to get to so I will try to get a picture when I have time tomorrow.

Re: RCA TV no picture, replaced all boards. Backlight ok
I don't have a remote for it. When turned on, the led turns blue and the back light comes on. I also noticed a faint buzzing from the inverter board (which might be normal). I haven't checked the power output but I'm sure I could with some basic instructions. I am familiar with a multimeter but usually use it on cars.Leave a comment:

Re: RCA TV no picture, replaced all boards. Backlight ok
We need pictures from back of tv,each board and more info of what it's doing/not doing.
Can you turn it on/off with remote? Did you measure powersupply voltages?Does led on front blink? The more you explain, the better pictures, the better we all can help you resolve this mystery.
I'm thinking one of the boards you bought is faulty, but lets find outLeave a comment:

RCA TV no picture, replaced all boards. Backlight ok
I have a coworkers RCA 46LA45RQ LCD TV. It has no picture, backlight works.
He took it to a TV repair shop some time ago and they told him it needed a new board, but he couldn't remember which one. He said they said it had something to do with not enough power.
I replaced the main board, power supply board, and TCON board. The problem hasn't changed. I was told the sound works but haven't been able to confirm it.
The only board I haven't changed is the inverter board. Can this affect the picture?
Any help would be appreciated.Tags: None

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by lostoneHello, I came here after finding some similar questions asked on other monitors and hope someone here can help me get an ancient Viewsonic VP230mp (23" 4:3 LCD) back to working condition.
First a little background, I have a background in computer and electrical engineering, and I'm smart enough to know I know nothing about LCD displays and how they work. For this topic I'm as green as they come.
When the display is turned on the viewsonic logo displays in the uppper left for 2 seconds then the screen goes black, the power LED is green (on) and when a computer is connected...-

by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-
