    Panasonic TCP50G20 10 Blinks

Hello all. I'm hoping someone might be able to shed some light on an issue that I'm having with my Panasonic Plasma. I've read all the similar problems, but nothing seems to quite match what is going on here...

I went to power on the set the other day and it would not turn on. Just kept clicking like it was trying to turn on, then off, then over and over again. I tested and narrowed down the problem to the A Board and ordered a replacement from encompassparts.com. Just installed the new A Board today and solved the clicking issue... however now I get a 10 Blink error code.

I have tried to isolate this, unplugged the SC board and powered up, the result was the same 10 Blink error. Unplugged the SS and powered up, result was still a 10 Blink error.

Would this be an issue with the P Board or do I have a faulty A Board? Not sure how/what to test next.

    Thanks in advance.

Blink code says abnormality in the 15 Volt supply. Possibly a SC board or SS board problem...I recall being told that pretty much ANY blink code can be set by an SC Board..

ALSO...do NOT forget to check the SD card slot...for something shorting it. This can ALSO set this code..

        TV off,

disconnect SC2, SS11, P35, and the 3 white ribbons on the side of the A-board.

Now turn it on, if it turns on and no error blinks the P and A are ok. Do this for less than 30secs.
If it still blinks then your mainboard is bad.

Turn it off, don't reconnect anything for 5 mins or so.

RCA2000, thanks for the troubleshooting manual. That's a huge help, I only had access to the service manual.

martino, I will try this test this afternoon and post the results.

Stupid question, but since I've been working on this around working full time and going to school... is it okay to keep the panel face down on a flat workbench, or should I keep standing the panel up in between repairs?

Do you have the stand for the panel? Ideally you should keep the panel upright between repair attempts using the stand, but if you don't have the stand then keeping the panel face down on the workbench would probably be the safest. Just make sure there is something between the panel and workbench to prevent scratches

Here's the results of the test:

When press the power button on the unit, I get the 10 blink error code. So I'm assuming either the P Board is bad or the replacement A Board is bad. I've read somewhere that a shorted SD Card reader could cause this on the A Board, what's the best way to rule that out? On the P Board I tested resistance at the three points indicated in the service manual. Each was above 1K, however the check for Vsus seemed to fluxuate more than the others...

I do have a new P Board on the way, regardless. But I'd like to rule out the possibility of the A Board being bad... I ordered that one from encompassparts.com.

Do what Martino suggested--That'll tell ya whether the A or P is faulty.

                Personally, I'm suspecting A.

You can check if something is jammed into the sd slot(a coin or something) but I'm afraid that A board is bad.

Yeah, there's nothing in the SD Slot. The P Board wouldn't be suspect or worth replacing? Man that would suck if this A Board was bad, it was the replacement I ordered for the original bad A Board... which I went right to the manufacturer supply. Any other suggestions for getting a good A Board? ShopJimmy.com didn't have any and I was less inclined to trust an eBay board. I need a TXN/A1MGUUS (TNPH0834AE) A Board if this one is bad too.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
                      by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
                      by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...

Panasonic P50VT20B Plasma 12 Blinks, Power Supply or A-Board?
                      by Biruslapio
Hello, I've had this TV for 3 years, 2 years ago it stopped working signaling 12 Blinks, SOUND_SOS according to the service manual.

It has no VSUS or VDAT, and P15V has 1.0V instead, the same 15V goes to A board. F15V is ok and other main voltage rails.

It seems the power supply is defective, since unplugging D20 ribbon cable that goes from D-board to SC-board makes the behavior change, the TV stays on, there's no image nor VSUS, but 15V reads 2.4V, high enough to not trip the SOS 12 blinks, so it stays on, fans do not spin but I left it 2 hours, green led lit up...
