• Panasonic TC-P50G20 Going Into Protect

Hey guys, not sure if anyone can lend some insight...

I have a Panasonic TC-P50G20 that one day not too long ago turned off and kept making a power cycle clicking noise. I went through the service manuals and determined that it was an A Board failure and replaced the A Board (TXN/A1MGUUS) which seemed to have resolved the issue.

Jump back to the present and two weeks ago I started noticing that utilizing HDMI 1 on the TV started displaying weird anomalies... screen flashes, etc. So I hooked up HDMI 2 instead and had no problems.

    Here's my setup... The TV...

  • Panasonic TC-P50G20 Random Static

Recently replaced my panels TXN/A1MGUUS (TNPH0834AE) A Board, as it was causing a 10 blink error and wouldn't power on. Replacement had the unit working fine for a few weeks now.

Within the past two days I've been noticing quick blips of static showing up on the screen. Happens very quickly and only noticed it three times so far. I have a Denon receiver hooked up to HDMI 1, and using a PS4, DVD, and Chromecast (all plugged into 3 inputs on the reciever). These flashes happened twice on the PS4 and once on the Chromecast. I haven't used the DVD in a while.

    I'm thinking...

  • Re: Panasonic TC-P50G20 A Board Problems (TXN/A1MGUUS)

Success! It was in fact just the A Board. I don't believe I went through all of those hoops to setup an account through Encompass to order a manufacturer's board, only to be sent a faulty A Board. I managed to get a used A Board via eBay and now this Television works!

Anyone have use for a faulty A Board causing a 10 blink code?

I was hoping that the A Board wasn't bad, but I also ran the test that Martino suggested:

"SC2, SS11, P35, and the 3 white ribbons on the side of the A-board.
Now turn it on, if it turns on and no error blinks the P and A are ok. Do this for less than 30secs."

This seems to isolate the P and A Boards, and resulted in still emitting the 10 blink error code. I thought it might be a bad P Board, but I had a replacement board to test which didn't rectify the issue.

    No shorts...

  • Panasonic TC-P50G20 A Board Problems (TXN/A1MGUUS)

Hello all. I've previously posted about having a 10 Blink problem with my set that appeared after I replaced the faulty A Board with a "new" A Board I ordered from panasonic.encompass.com. You can see that thread here.

I've concluded that the replacement A Board is indeed bad, verified by the Service Manual troubleshooting. So now I have to order another A Board (TXN/A1MGUUS). I didn't expect to get a bad board form Encompass, as they are supposed to be direct from manufacture, but...

  • Re: Panasonic TCP50G20 10 Blinks

Yeah, there's nothing in the SD Slot. The P Board wouldn't be suspect or worth replacing? Man that would suck if this A Board was bad, it was the replacement I ordered for the original bad A Board... which I went right to the manufacturer supply. Any other suggestions for getting a good A Board? ShopJimmy.com didn't have any and I was less inclined to trust an eBay board. I need a TXN/A1MGUUS (TNPH0834AE) A Board if this one is bad too....

Here's the results of the test:

When press the power button on the unit, I get the 10 blink error code. So I'm assuming either the P Board is bad or the replacement A Board is bad. I've read somewhere that a shorted SD Card reader could cause this on the A Board, what's the best way to rule that out? On the P Board I tested resistance at the three points indicated in the service manual. Each was above 1K, however the check for Vsus seemed to fluxuate more than the others...

I do have a new P Board on...

RCA2000, thanks for the troubleshooting manual. That's a huge help, I only had access to the service manual.

martino, I will try this test this afternoon and post the results.

Stupid question, but since I've been working on this around working full time and going to school... is it okay to keep the panel face down on a flat workbench, or should I keep standing the panel up in between repairs?

  • Panasonic TCP50G20 10 Blinks

Hello all. I'm hoping someone might be able to shed some light on an issue that I'm having with my Panasonic Plasma. I've read all the similar problems, but nothing seems to quite match what is going on here...

I went to power on the set the other day and it would not turn on. Just kept clicking like it was trying to turn on, then off, then over and over again. I tested and narrowed down the problem to the A Board and ordered a replacement from encompassparts.com. Just installed the new A Board today and solved the clicking issue... however now I get a 10 Blink error code.

Hi all. My name is Mike. I'm usually used to working with Synthesizers... but now my TV is dead and I'm trying to get it back up and running.
