    sony T-con repair

Thought I share this for maybe future sony guy's.

    I have a KDl-52S5100 that would loose picture after 30 seconds,backlight would stay on,sound works,just no picture.

Measuring around on t-con I found RD69 to be stable 4.5v on chip side,3.2v and dropping on other side.
Soldered a 15 ohm on top of it and it brought voltage up to 8.2v stable.
TV been on for 48hrs now.

What is the P/N of that IC? It looks like multiple switching power supplies controller.
Vin is fed into that inductor L3 and that resistor is connect to the output side of the inductor, it looks to be for making VDD_1.
    L4 is for VDD.
If you can get the spec sheet of the IC then you can tell what the function of that resistor is.

I've been looking for my magnifying glass without any luck. Wanted to read the numbers on that resistor aswell. I cant read the IC,my eyes are old.
I was wondering if the value of the resistor is in direct control of the voltage produced.
      15 ohm was a total guess,it gave me the 8.2v I was looking for,lol.

        ISL97650ARTZ

Could be 10 or 11 ohm going on the SJ images and versions I see. looks like 100 or 110?. I can make out the ARTZ in your shot.

Could be pin 3, CB, Logic buck, boost strap pin

The resistor RD69 (it does look like 110) is between pin 3 (Logic buck, boost strap pin) and pin1/2 (LX1/2 Internal boost connection)? Need verification, same for CD6.
Per App notes Sch, the CB pin only has cap connected to it.

Hi guys;Ok since the T-con board is the same of my KDL46S4100 i went to check RD69
and i can reed clearly 110 =11 ohm correct me if i'm wrong.

Also turned tv on and i only have 0.230v or so both sides.

here some strange i just went back to the white FP1,and i get 11.6v on one side and on the other side i get about the same as RD69,is this normal?

you just found the problem with your t con board !
That fuse blew open, probably due to fatigue.
Replace that fuse and you should be up and running

You can use 3A fuse with lead wires and solder them to each end of the blown fuse to test.

In my post 5 (Backlights but no image on the screen then you should find out if you do have 12VDC on both ends of the SMD fuse on the T-CON board with ref to chassis GND.) of that thread I asked you to check the DCV at both ends of the fuse and you reported the readings OK. (post 11: Thanks budm; i have 11.60v at fuse FP1,)

Confusion would be diminished if your chassis story was not spread across two threads. Can you resume your opening thread?
Have you cleaned the ribbon cables and connectors with IPA?
PS: I am now quite confused as to when you did and did not have sound. It would help if you can re-express the above comments in more carefully constructed grammar, preferably in the opening thread, with a view to bring conclusion to this story soon.

                              Hi,
I am from Bangalore (INDIA)and new user to Badcaps, so not very much aware how to post here.
In have the same Sony T Con board "1st Image as uploaded in thread " in my sony bravia.
The problem is it has no video display , but backlit, audio is perfectly fine,
I checked the TCon board , supply at Fuse is 12 V at both ends , but there is no supply going to FPC 1,FPC 2 points and gamma IC inputs . Please help, I am new to this forum. Appreciate your prompt response. Thanks
