I've repaired the same fault on an LG plasma. See here

What does it solder to inside the shielded box? There was what appeared to be a thin, flat wire that broke off.

I'm reluctant to start unsoldering stuff from the main board until I have a better idea.

The thin flat wire is the terminal that is connected to the center pin of Ant connector.
The tuner module has metal shield where the Ant connector is attached to it and the center pin of the connector is soldered to the PCB.

Mine was done in situ through the hole with a pencil iron and a little flux. No need for removal.

I cant seem to access where the thin flat wire connected without removing the metal shield. I certainly cant see it through the hole.

To be fair mine was a solder pad and not aflat wire so iI'm not sure you'd be able to properly anchor it anyway.
