Sony KDL-46S4100 no pic or sound help.

Hi guys ;today during my morning exercise walk i came across a Sony Bravia
KDL-46S4100 that was dumped on the side of one of those yellow dumpsters,i had to care it back to my house about a quarter mile on my back,
turned it on and it clicks and get power on green led and the back light in on,so before i open it up please tell me it's worth to repair and where to start.
For some research i suspect the A main board, which i can get from here
    http://www.shopjimmy.com/sony-1-857-...dl-46s4100.htm

    i appreciate any clues,thanks

Is this model like some other Sony KDL's that would present a blinking red LED error code upon some fault conditions?

Backlights but no image on the screen then you should find out if you do have 12VDC on both ends of the SMD fuse on the T-CON board with ref to chassis GND.

Thanks there is no led blinking just a steady green led,i turn on tv power supply turns on with steady green led and black light on no pic or sound , it's pretty much what happens in this video,i took the main board out and i found out that the tuner coaxial cable input is twisted and the ground is almost all cut,but i don't think that is enough for this fault!check pic,i ordered Main board for 50 bucks and will check if i got lucky like some of the folks with same symptom.

if after replace parts and you do have steady green led on and off, and BL okay, check the sound, if okay, then you need T-CON

White fuse FP1 (3A) to the left of the LVDS connector CN1.

Thanks budm; i have 11.60v at fuse FP1,
i lifted the T-con board CN1 measured after connected my Roku 1 to HDMI and turned tv on i had a menu asking to set languish then i was happy that i had it working, put board in place turned tv again and i was stuck on same issue,
maybe this is a software issue! what should i do next? thanks.

Did you try reseating all the cables and make sure all the board mounting screws are tight? You may have bad connections somewhere.

                            Thanks budm, i think all cables are well connected;
i came across this link with almost same fault with tips to see if T-con board is ok but the difference mine has back-light on , the tech says to remove one side of CN1 and wiggle in and out on right side,i did that and i could see raster with some pattern lines also i could see for a moment with raster with on OSD.
so this means T-Con broad is ok?,maybe CN1 cable is bad?
i really don't know what to do,i like this tv and already put 50 bucks the A board, what do you think i should do? any other tips, all referenced voltages are good.
maybe also the LCD Panel assembly is bad since there is no sound?any other thoughts i would appreciate.

Thanks Alastair; i did not say it worked, i said when i giggled or pull in and out on one side of the cn1 plug, see tech link;i had the OSD and some time of grey pattern but just for a second on some position,it also sounds to me that there is a short somewhere either T-con Assembly or LCD itself is short or it could be the LVDS cable,

1- disconnect both ribbon cable from T-CON to LCD, and inspect them if there any line missing or became short not to the end of the cable.

2´- keep them out and play signal from outsource to HDMI 1, you should hear the sound. if yes, get the ribbon cable back, if no Picture you have T-CON fault. or bad soldering, reflow it witth heat gun.. give try you will not lost ..

so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Sony SLV-E780 Power Supply Issue – Clicking Sound, Need Help Identifying Faulty Component
                                          by Akuanka
                                          Hi everyone,

I'm troubleshooting a power supply issue with a Sony SLV-E780 VCR. The device clicks repeatedly but doesn't power up completely. I've already replaced five capacitors, but the problem persists.

Here's a video link https://photos.app.goo.gl/3Xki6yvCLn67gLX78 showcasing the sound. Based on your experience, could this be due to a transformer, diode, or another component? Any guidance on what to test or replace next would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Previous owner said TV just went blank one day.
They attempted to open the back panel and yanked the power connector off the power supply in the meantime.
Easily fixed that and got the TV to turn on. Backlights come one with everything connected. Good Sign.
The mainboard shows signs of life (red light on digital audio out is on) but that's about it. Good Sign.
There is not blinking LED and the most importantly there is LED response and sound when I press the MENU button on remote control. GREAT Sign.

                                          Sony Bravia KD-50X690E NO SOUND
                                          by x_orange90_x
Finally got my KD-50X690E up and running after replacing the power supply. Upon testing it I noticed the lack of sound from the speakers. At first I just ignored it thinking it was set to external speakers or some other kind of audio setting. However, after actually going into settings and looking around I see nothing of this sort. I looked it up on Google and apparently a lot of people have disappearing audio on a variety of Sony TVs 🙄. I'm going to see if a firmware or software update will resolve it, if available.

Has anyone else had this happen to their tv?

Sony XBR-75X950G seems dead with a black screen but backlight and sound is working and no blinking red lights
                                          by Audeze
I have a 2019 75" x950g, and while playing a movie, the screen suddenly went dark in a weird way, where it faded towards one corner into being fully black. Now the TV turns on, and the backlight comes on, but there is nothing displayed except black. Sound still comes through the TV speakers, and i have tried doing a hard reset using the volume - and power buttons while plugging the display back in, but it did not fix it. I can confirm that pressing buttons on my remote is still doing "something" because I'm hearing sound still, even though the screen is black.
