I recommend removing c614a and feel it between your fingers. It’s usually very slightly bulged on one of the sides. Normally you cannot see it until after you have felt it. If you have an exact match for that capacitor definitely just replace it and see if that resolved your issue. Also one thing about this board it is very easy to short out the transistors when testing them. If you have tested them and got any kind of zap from your meter leads, that it’s likely something has shorted.

Re: TCL 75S421 has sound but no backlight not even a flash
Hi, this power supply has a common fault that causes no backlight. Normally capacitor c614a fails. It is near where the screen printed board number is on the circuit board. If you remove the capacitor you will feel on the side it is no longer flat and bulged out a bit. I have repaired many of these power supplies with this fault. Hope this helps.

Re: SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seco
I have seen this exact issue a few times on this model. It has always been a shorted capacitor on one of the buffer board. To determine the exact one just start testing the smd caps. Start on the outside edge and work in. In extreme cases where the tv works for longer than a few seconds it will actually burn a couple resistors up.

Re: Panasonic TC-P50U50 Powers Off - 8 blinks
It is very important to replace those 5.6ohm resistors. If the transistor was shorted the resistors were damaged even if they read close to the correct resistance. I have seen many of them black and burnt and still read correct resistance.

Re: Samsung UN65NU6900FXZA Vertical Gray/Dim Area
This does look like failed leds. Specifically maybe only 1 or 2 leds out. You can see on the bottom one specific spot were it is slightly darker which is the led that is out. You can confirm by removing the screen and turning the leds on you will likely see a few not lit. It’s very common on this series of TVs. Leds are inexpensive for this model and worth replacing as long as the diffuser here has not melted or cracked.

Re: Samsung UN70NU6900 red light two blinks
Search this model number on YouTube. You will find a video of someone with a 55” their YouTube channel is repairalltv doing the tape off trick on the ribbon cable. This video will show you the spot to add the tape. This model is not like there’s as the tape does not go on the edge of the ribbon but about 12 pins from the edge.

Re: Oled65c8pla
Hello, I just repaired one of these models and the relay would just click. On the power supply the relay had cold solder joints. Same symptom as you, slowly got worse to the point the tv wouldn’t say on for then a second or 2.

Re: Sharp LC-90LE745U 3 slow and 1 fast Blink
Hello, yes plug the tv in first. This procedure to enter service mode can be done even with the blink code
1. Plug tv in.
2. Press and hold volume - and input buttons, while holding them, press the power button.
3. Tv will turn on, with the letter k on the screen.
4. Press and hold volume - and channel down.
5. Service menu will appear, you should see lamp error in the list, set to 0 if it is anything higher.

Re: Sharp LC-90LE745U 3 slow and 1 fast Blink
To get into service mode on some sharp models it’s not like the older ones. First plug in the power, then press volume - and input together and while holding those press the power button. Continue to hold until the tv powers on without the blink code ( should be pretty fast) when the k shows up release the power and input and press and hold channel -
Hope this helps

Re: Sharp LC-90LE745U 3 slow and 1 fast Blink
Hello, it sounds like you need to go into service mode and clear the backlight error count. Doing the force turn on does not clear anything it is just for testing for troubleshooting. Once the error count is clear you should not get the 1-1 blink (unless there is still a led issue) any longer.

Re: Sony XBR-55x900F mainboard replace firmware upgrade
Hello,
If your getting flashing amber/green light the tv is not dead. It’s simply asking for the firmware update. You will need to download the firmware from Sony’s website and put it on a thumb drive. Plug the thumb drive into the USB port and plug the tv into power. Press the power button and it will flash amber/green then go to a pulsing white once it is installing. It can take up to 45min so be patient. Here is a great YouTube video by nicks tv that helps with loading firmware

Re: Need to train my tech before he becomes a train wreck!
Hello,
Look into nesda national electronics dealers association. If you are a member with them they have various training certifications. They used to have one for multimedia( which Included TVs) but the most valuable if I as a member was the access to manufactures dealer websites and you can find service bulletins and tech publications on various issues. They also had a tv tech forum that tv repair shops across the country participated in. I was a member of nesda for along time but have not for the last few...

Re: Samsung UN58J5190AFXZA pwr supply troubleshooting help
Have you tested the transistor I mentioned? Remove the board from the tv. On the back of the board is the smd transistor in the location I mentioned before. Put your meter in diode mode, check for short between the center pad and the 2 legs. If your meter reads close to 0.0 it is shorted. If it reads around 0.40 then it is likely good.

Re: Samsung UN58J5190AFXZA pwr supply troubleshooting help
Hello,
It is very common for this board to fail when the leds short. Normally QP801CS on the back of the board is shorted. This is usually the only part that needs to be replaced ( other than the leds) to get it back running. Hope this helps

Re: Sony xbr65x900c LED replacement
There is a YouTube video that will show you step by step how to get to them. The leds come out from the back on this model.
