    Samsung LN46A850S1FXZA vertical line

I have had this TV for some time now and have noticed a vertical line on the right hand side. It goes away over time (usually after 30 minutes). I have read a number of threads on this board and have come to the suspicion that it may be a bad bond tabs. A number of posts suggest that it may simply be a bad panel (seems common for Samsung) but sometimes I get 2 or 3 vertical lines (around the same portion of the TV -- the right side). The additional lines usually appear if I am attaching something into the HDMI (or other input) ports. A bit of wiggling around usually gets them down to a single vertical line. I don't mind it so much (since it goes away after the TV has warmed up). Does anyone have a diagnosis based on this description?

Does it change if you flex the LCD panel?

How would you recommend flexing the panel? It is fairly stiff. Or did you mean flexing the spot where everything is plugged in (HDMI, VID, VGA, component, etc -- all inputs) ?

It sounds like a faulty vertical tab bond. Sometimes using a cushion agent between the metal lcd frame and the panel will give you luck but not a permanent fix forever. This requires completely disassembling the TV and pulling the black plastic bezel frame off the front of the TV then removing the screws that hold the metal frame to the LCD panel pulling the frame back a little bit in shimming the bad tab which presses the metal frame against the tab even harder. It can evevtually come back or go to a full bar of black or even the panel itself will go dark on that side and get blurry (refresh problem).

Did I leave the soldering iron on?
