• Re: Westinghouse LTV-32w6 no sound except on one source

I will delve deeper this weekend. That said there are so many cheap (free, even) TVs on Facebook Market that I may just junk it and get a used one for my kids to play on. I’m mostly here to see if there is anything to learn about fixing this thing.

    Haha no arguments here.

With autosource turned on, the TV automatically changes to the appropriate source when it is on, and there is a signal from that source. However, still only sound from the second set of component ports. With it off, I have to manually select the input source. And even still, no sound except for the second set of component ports.

Testing with just the XBox 360:

    HDMI:

    Miscellaneous Info
    F/W Version: V3.02
    Micro...

Will do. For inputs, the unit has composite/s-video (shared), two component, one antenna, one HDMI, and one VGA+headphone input. When I connect a device to the second component input set, I get both video and audio. However, when I connect the same device to the other component input, I only get video and no sound. The same applies to all the other input sources: video is there, but no sound. Specifically with the HDMI port, devices (like my XBox 360) detect the port as a DVI port (i.e. no sound) and not HDMI....

I tried searching the forums for this model, but all I found were issues related to either power or no image and/or no sound. My issue is that sound works, but only on one of the input sources. Switching to the other sources works fine insofar as getting an image is concerned. However, there is no audio for any of the other inputs. Does anyone have an idea of what the problem may be?

  • Re: Samsung LN46A850S1FXZA vertical line

How would you recommend flexing the panel? It is fairly stiff. Or did you mean flexing the spot where everything is plugged in (HDMI, VID, VGA, component, etc -- all inputs) ?...

  • Samsung LN46A850S1FXZA vertical line

I have had this TV for some time now and have noticed a vertical line on the right hand side. It goes away over time (usually after 30 minutes). I have read a number of threads on this board and have come to the suspicion that it may be a bad bond tabs. A number of posts suggest that it may simply be a bad panel (seems common for Samsung) but sometimes I get 2 or 3 vertical lines (around the same portion of the TV -- the right side). The additional lines usually appear if I am attaching something into the HDMI (or other input) ports. A bit of wiggling around usually gets them down to a single...

Here is a small gallery of the caps: http://postimg.org/gallery/lzfnim44/

Not that price is any accurate gauge (since anyone can charge higher prices for name brand caps), but I did pay $2.50 for four of them.

This was the first PC I built myself, so I have a strong attachment to this motherboard. :-)Re: Abit BP6

<... charge higher...

Oh yeah, now I remember why I registered! :-) How do I know that the Rubycon cap I bought is not a fake? Is there some easy way to tell? I can post a pic if need be.

Yeah, I replaced EC10 with a Rubycon 470uF 16V. The system had been running quite stable (Prime95 went for a whole week without crashing) and I left Quake 3 running with a bunch of bots for several days and also no crash. So, I wrote "had been running" because the PSU just went out. I found a bulged cap; might be worthwhile to repair the PSU since the ones with -5V rails are hard to come by these days (not that I have any ISA cards anymore). At the same time, one of my 256MB sticks of ECC RAM (used in non-ECC mode) apparently died, too.

    So now...

  • Abit BP6

Does anyone still use this board? I resurrected mine not too long ago and replaced the 2x466MHz processors with 2x366MHz processors, overclocked to 550MHz (woohoo 100MHz front-side bus!). I only had to replace a single capacitor (which I did a long while ago) and the board seems to still be running stable (prime95 ran several days with no issues, and Quake 3 run in SMP mode with bots fighting themselves for several days nonstop without crashes). I am wondering if I need to replace the other caps (no bulge, no leaks, etc). I also read the bp6.com site, but their admin seems to be forever missing...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hi, rs1n here -- found this site as a result of finding my old Abit BP6 system in my parents' garage. When I first bought it, I had to replace the EC10 cap and used two 1000uF caps in parallel (someone suggested on some old forum way back in the day to use 2000uF there). After digging up the old system and throwing out a bad stick of RAM (256MB), I decided to redo the EC10 cap. I had thought about recapping my board, but after only modifying the EC10 cap, the system appears to be stable with 2x366@550. Anyway, I am hoping to...
