Reseat the buffer-tabs from screen to buffer-boards in line with the defect--they are quite a fiddle to do--And delicate....
--They dont click in when fully home--they sorta 'nunk' in--You'll know what I mean once you've done one right...Last edited by Alastair E; 02-02-2016, 03:34 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 50PS3000 only displaying bottom half of screen
Hi Reece,
Wife said if I was going to spend more money then she would have a 3D TV instead!!
I feel a bit out of my depth to be honest and didn't want to throw more money at it to get nowhere. I thought about buying a Y-sus board just out of curiosity but wife said to just get a new tv! Might do that anyway after just reading the last post!
I really appreciate everyone's help!Leave a comment:

Re: LG 50PS3000 only displaying bottom half of screen
Ok so I checked the connections and all seem OK. I did notice however that the lines on the screen are far less with the replacement buffer board than the original one. I don't know if that means anything or not? I have included pics as well as a pic of the control board.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 50PS3000 only displaying bottom half of screen
Interesting...
Can you post a picture of your control board?
It's the green board in the centre of the set - has a load of white ribbon cables coming out of it.
Also, check that you connected the cable between the two buffers correctly. If that's loose weird shit can happen.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 50PS3000 only displaying bottom half of screen
Most likely it would be something wrong with the signals going to the top buffer since you have ruled out the buffer itself, that would point to control board or possibly main board. It is also possible a damaged or loose cable could cause this so it is worth checking those. (The cables can corrode if the air is humid, or come loose if the TV is moved or over time due to thermal expansion.)
Can you see if the white lines go away on a completely black screen?
Have you tried activating the test pattern mode? (It requires putting a small jumper wire across some pins on a board.)Last edited by tom66; 01-25-2016, 03:01 PM.Leave a comment:

Hi,
Trying to work out if this is TFT problem or TCon issue.
The TV powers up but the top half of the screen, from the right it is OK, but as you look across to the left halfway across it starts get duller and duller until it is very dark on the lefthand side, currently I trying to clean the remote as it seems to have something film wise on the pads stopping it from registering buttons pressed.
Also when changing the screen size of Windows PC display to say to a smaller pixel sizewindow, the original window displayin the top left stays/takes a few seconds to disappear?...2 Photos -
by ChrissygizmoHello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same... -
by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by Raulnngood night! I have this screen that looks half black and half white. the tcon gives a low vgh value (5-6v). the rest seem fine. I first removed the flex from one half of the panel and then the other. Removing the left, vgh increases it to 25-26v. I think the problem is in that area, but there are not many elements on the integrated controller board. there are no shorted capacitors. could they be a cof? Some help?
By the way, now the entire screen is black. Maybe some flex was not connected correctly... I have exchanged the flex and there are no variations, I don't think they are the... -
by scubacamperI found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display... - Loading...
