Philips 42plf5332d/37 backlight strobe

If I leave the tv unplugged for weeks it might work properly for a couple of days, then the strobe returns. I didn't see any bulging caps or leakage on the power supply board. I should have taken some photos when I had it apart, but I'll go back and snap a few if I am able to get any replies here.

With the limited info I have provided so far... is it sounding more like an inverter issue or a power supply problem?

Hmm--Not heard of the model number--

Are you sure its not 42PFL5532...?

Pics of the Internal boards will help, I suspect its the PFL Plasma set--ie, no inverters...

My mistake, I typed the model number incorrectly. It's an lcd set. I'm going to try and take some pictures this afternoon.

I had a Phillips ambilight LCD do this after replacing the inverter slave/master inverter boards. I had brightness all the way up to solve it temporarily but I think it was something to do with with Eco setting active dimming backlight sensor that failed on the mainboard.
