Philips 42plf5332d/37 backlight strobe

If I leave the tv unplugged for weeks it might work properly for a couple of days, then the strobe returns. I didn't see any bulging caps or leakage on the power supply board. I should have taken some photos when I had it apart, but I'll go back and snap a few if I am able to get any replies here.
With the limited info I have provided so far... is it sounding more like an inverter issue or a power supply problem?https://Video here:<br /> [url]http...youtu.be[/url]

In case anyone comes across this topic by search, I'll give an update.
I did go ahead and replace the power board. TV seems to be working fine. If that didn't fix it, I could have just re-sold the board on ebay for a slight loss, worth the risk I'd say.
Before I replaced the board, when the TV would function, there was never a brightness issue with the backlight or any pink discoloration, so I just assumed it was something wrong with the inverter part of the power board.

My backlight will shut off. It is just the backlight, if I shine a light near the screen I can still see the image. If I turn the tv off and back on, it will work properly for maybe 30 seconds. The longer the TV is left off, the longer it will work when turned back on.
