LG 50PA5500-UA Black Screen, sound on

    Hi everybody,
have 50PA5500-UA plasma tv with black screen now.
Started from screen blinking, some times was black screen, some times was ok.
Then it stopped turning on. Standby light, press ON button, CLICK tried to turn on, another CLICK right away - turn itself off, standby on.

Unpluged Z-SUS with Y-SUS (power cable goes from PS board to Z-SUS then from Z to Y-SUS), tv turned on.
Z-SUS pluged in, Y unpluged - tv turned on.

So does it means Y-SUS or Y-buffers are bad?

Checked top Y-buffer connections, all clear.

Should i replace all 3 Y boards or i can check smth before?

    Please help

Remove the upper y buffer board off the equation and then power it up. Do you have a grey raster on the bottom half of the screen?
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

No, just blank screen (after remove upper y-buffer)

Funny thing, that after i connect everything back and Y-SUS to power supply, no tv still starts ok, and sound works

With ysus and zsus disconnected can you verify vs voltage from the power supply

That's correct. You will not have a screen at all with the Y buffers disconnected. However you need to verify if you're still receiving vs voltage from the power supply with or without the buffers connected to the ysus board. Without monitoring output voltages from the power supply you have no way of telling if your power supply is going into protection mode with the buffers installed therefore you can't physically tell if your buffers ar shorted unless you doing ohm test

So i have to check voltages on ps board or ysus board? This ysus board getting voltages from zsus board. It doesnt have any power cable from ps board to ysus directly
Please advise what exactly should i check with meter?

set you meter on dc 600 volts (red lead on test point black to chassis of the tv )then use the VS/VA test points on your power supply to see if they match up with your panel which should have a sticker attached giving voltages VS/VA/VSC/VE etc
try this with YSUS/ZSUS unplugged first

Just tested vs and va without ysus and zsus boards. Read correct numbers as on board table: vs 203, va 54

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                      by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

70LE660U dark cloud or black screen with sound.
                      by Rozp
                      Hello Everyone,

This is my first post so I will try to be as precise as possible without making this post too long winded. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the original problem but I included images of the TV internals.

I have a Sharp 70LE660U. The problem started a few months ago with the bottom row looking out of sync and was dark on the left side and then fading to transparent on the right side. Shortly after, a dark cloud appeared in the center of the screen. The dark cloud started small and shaded but the image was visible. It also affected the menu area....

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                      by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
                      by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Sony XBR-75X950G seems dead with a black screen but backlight and sound is working and no blinking red lights
                      by Audeze
I have a 2019 75" x950g, and while playing a movie, the screen suddenly went dark in a weird way, where it faded towards one corner into being fully black. Now the TV turns on, and the backlight comes on, but there is nothing displayed except black. Sound still comes through the TV speakers, and i have tried doing a hard reset using the volume - and power buttons while plugging the display back in, but it did not fix it. I can confirm that pressing buttons on my remote is still doing "something" because I'm hearing sound still, even though the screen is black.

                      Does...
