How Would You Service A Curved Led Lcd ?

One day, I recon that I will get one of these curved Led tvs which need some type of repair that requires taking the Lcd screen apart. More than likely it will be to replace a failed Led no doubt about it. Just thinking of taking the Lcd glass out of the frame scares me as if you even bow these curved tvs slightly they break right in your hands.

How would it be done with out breaking the glass ? Or are these engineered different so that you can service the backlights with out having to take out the Lcd glass out, if thats not the case it will be very hard to service. Cant seem to find much else on these curved sets on how they are engineered.

Haha or hope that the owner kept the packaging which is curved at the same angle as the display lol

I thought the curved screens were OLED, so there are no backlights.

              That's for curved OLEDs.
Curved LCD would be similar. You need a jig.

Most likely a lot of these sets will treat the LCD panel as wholly unserviceable. Luckily curved TVs don't seem to be that popular yet.

Oled displays are like Plasma each pixel generates its own light. There are curved Lcds as well which is what im on about.

Tbh I think they are rubbish, after seeing some Oled curved screens at Pc world (where I noticed image burn) it just looks rubbish having a cured screen. I don't know how they say "unlimited viewing angle" because well dam I sure couldn't see anything when off to the side.

I invite you to visit Costco some time. They have a 65" 4K OLED by LG. It is fucking amazing. Infinite contrast, near-zero update time, excellent colour and brightness. Better than any Kuro, VT60 or LCD. It's the future. It's likely as we see the cost falling on these TVs the panel will be the #1 failure. That's why I'm not a massive fan. But you can't deny they look great.

And modern plasmas do get burn in just like OLED. I even think my Kuro may have some very minor burn in from the Kodi interface. It's only visible on solid colours and it's very faint, but it's started appearing. Since I saw that, I've changed the interface skin. My Panasonic U30 bedroom plasma gets IR so quickly (though no burn in yet.) It's crazy.

Oled does look nice I never said it didnt it looks very nice indeed. Just a few things I dont like for example they are curved and not wall mountable. They are almost like Lcd but a bit more complex in the structure but the drive method is almost the same with a Tcon.

Im very careful with my Kuro I make sure that if I watch something with a static image for over 1 hour I will change the aspect ratio or turn the screen off as normally I listen to youtube videos while doing other things. Not a single lick of Ir or image burn on my Kuro would cause my OCD to flip if anything did come up lol

Samsung can't make a good flat screen, I don't expect the curved one to be any better. I saw a OLED TV in Best Buy, the display set had Burn In on the Screen!

Only when you put your 3D glasses, becomes curved.
