    It's a bad panel.
you'd need to take it down to the panel, press on the ribbons to see if the picture comes back.

yep... that's is likely the ribbon that generates that side. Must be some story behind this one as I don't think it would have just disappeared... :-)

History of this TV? Someone/shop else worked on this unit before?
That black vertical line is due to bad panel.

Most likely, if you put that ribbon cable back, it won't turn on at all.
Do you see some damages at the T-Con board, panel's PCB/tabs?

The history is I bought it from a guy who had a bunch of tvs that was moving. He told me the ribbon was the problem, I wanted to confirm before I bought it, which seems it may not be.

The tcon board looks in good shape.

have you tried swopping the ribbon cable to the other side? if so what image do you get then.

Check for shoddy connections on some of the resistors and capacitors up on top of that FRP board that connect the ribbon cable to the panel on that side. I've seen a few instances where there is a bad connection or a bad solder joint on some of those SMD capacitors up on top of that board. If not your panels definitely bad
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

bad panel i guess then but atleast you can either keep or sell the boards and led strips out of it to get some money back etc

are these panels not repairable? Ive been told you can get the bonded tabs replaced?

                              by FourRunner
I purchased a used Samsung TV model UA65JS9000W recently knowing it had an issue with the screen. When switched on the picture was bright both sides of the screen but a little darker in the middle of the screen. Thinking this was the back lights (side mounted LCD strips) I replaced these, however the issue is still there. I am now thinking it may be a TCOM issue, but am not sure, any advice on this would be appreciated. Also whilst changing out the back lights I noticed the the thick clear plastic sheet (maybe 1.5 to 2mm thick) below the diffusers there is cracking (up to 75mm) on the sides and...

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
                              by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

                              Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

                              First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

Samsung Series 9 - BIOS issue
                              by Kjell
After installing Linux, I can no longer enter the BIOS of my Samsung Series 9 (NP900X3C) laptop. When pressing [F2] during boot I simply get a black screen. Same thing when pressing [F10] and choosing "Setup" from the "App Menu" tab. Apparently this is a relatively common issue with Samsung laptops of that generation, but unfortunately i haven't been able to resolve the issue (yet).

Things i've tried so far; reinstalled Windows 10, checked for redundant boot entries, tried to factory reset using the emergency keyhole, attempted to clear the NVRAM by physically...

Samsung UN55MU6103F video problem; has colored stripes on the display
                              by alro7779
                              Hello, everyone!

A co-worker gave me a 55-inch Samsung TV model UN55MU6103F so I can try to fix the following problem... As soon as I plug it in to the wall, the TV turns on, and the display shows a few stripes all over the screen. I took off the back cover and disconnected both ribbon cables that go to the display (one at a time) so by doing that I can narrow down the bad section of the problem, but in both cases the display turns black. I know there are some voltages that I have to check (VGH, VGL, etc.) but don't know what reading each has to show. If anyone could guide me on this,...
