    Panasonic TFTV5025FL failed LED string

I'm on the verge of scrapping this set but thought I'd ask the question first. How difficult is it to obtain replacement LED strings for panels? This set has five pairs of wires emerging from the panel and plugging into the power supply board. Looking at the board it appears they are wired in series. There is ~120VDC applied across all the strings. I'm assuming I have one failed LED somewhere and all have been lost.
Is it worth the effort to pull down the panel? (I notice it's some nondescript Chinese panel- Palsonic are very cheap TVs.)

You can separately test each Led its best to repair the original strings as replacing them all is very expensive and little profit to be made. Will link a video.

Check this out, its a good method to check each led. Also what return (negative) voltage do you get on the strips ?

I don't know anyone that sells replacement LED strips. Screensare troublesome to dissassemble and reassemble.I certainly would not notdofora customer but might try it if it was my own set. Trrying to get the correct LED isa problem also.Itisalso difficult to remove old LEDs with out damaging the strip's very fine traces. The Leds are held in place with a heat sink adheasive. Good Luck

Its not Ltank its actually easy after you have done a few. Just pop the optic and reflector off, use hot air and slide fault led off then place new led on top apply hot air until new led takes solder. Replace reflector and optic and your done.

Thanks guys. It's a dumpster set of my own. I might strip it down as a learning experience in the very least.

Re: Panasonic TFTV5025FL failed LED string

I looked at those videos. Quite helpful for anyone that does want to have a go at a repair. I made the hard decision to scrap the set because I didn't have any replacement LEDs. But I did want to find out the cause of the failure and also scavenge some spare LEDs for the future. I wasn't too careful in dismantling the LCD panel and managed to break it in the process anyway. Found one LED in the string that was U/S. Seems like a major engineering design fault to wire about 60 LEDs in series and if one fails the TV is a write off. Anyway, I've got spare LED strips and single LEDS for the future if I get another one that needs a LED replaced. I'll be more careful with the panel in that case!

Post a picture of the string, the connector(s) on each end, and any part number identification that you can find.

Part number appears to be LXD017. There is a left and right interconnecting string. They are wired in series. I will be advertising on Flea-bay if anyone is looking for spares.

                    by Pentium4
This is the first time that I've seen an Panasonic cap fail that wasn't installed backwards (at least that I can remember).

It's a 1800uF 6.3V part. It's from a Dell Optiplex 780 SFF from 2010. CPU is a Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz. It was a point of sales machine at a car dealership and was NEVER off! It was on a UPS, and had 82,156 hours on it when I got it. It had never been cleaned, never had the thermal paste replaced. The thing literally just worked for 10 years. It's a cool machine because it's one of the highest end Core 2 Duo CPUs with DDR3 RAM

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
                    by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing hereπŸ€”?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting πŸ˜‚.

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
                    by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...
