You would need to specify the type, rating, dimensions, colour (warm/cool/neutral white) etc. Digikey is a good place to start.

      +1.
      also: https://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/component-leds/
The one used in TV will have > 100mA rating.

Re: where to buy single smd led to fix strip

I am unsure of how to find the ratings for these. Normally I would just buy some used strips to get the tv working. But I would like to start repairing the strip with replacement leds. They are the common strips that are in the 47 lg 47 vizios I have replaced many of the strips. But I can make alot more.money by repairing them

If you saved the old strips, you can scavenge the working leds from them.
In my experience, most of the leds are still good... depending on how they fail.
On some strips, the leds short, which causes lots of them to short eventually.
Most seem to open when they fail, on these strips there are usually one or two bad... and the rest are still good.

And turn the backlights down after the repair, also instruct the owner of the set to keep the backlights turned down to get them out of what I call "roman candle " mode.
The nicer sets will have separate settings for each input, so you have to go through each inputs setting.
If you don't do this, the set will be back...

That's really the cheapest method, take old strips and use the LEDs that are still ok. You don't even need to solder the LED (which sometimes can destroy the LED when heated to much). Just cut part of the PCB from an old defective strip containing a good LED and glue it onto the strip to be repaired.

Here is what I made work.
                    Digi-key part#1416-1526-1-ND
The solder pads underneath the are opposite than the Toshiba/LG
cathode has larger heatsink on new ones I replaced so,
I turned them according to the pads on pcb and then reversed the polarity at connector end.
I could not tell any difference in the picture.Must replace all on that strip or rewire.

                      Hi There!
I'm trying to help my friend who owns a restaurant be just bought.
He has a very long LED strip running along all the walls and columns. The strip is attached facing down 2in above the floor, using a wall panel that ends in a metal rail that finishes the panel underneath
It's stuck using, I guess, the 2 sided tape that comes with the strip
The issue is that like 1/2 of the full length, including 1/2 one wall, another entire wall, and one column, flickers after 4 or 5 minutes ON. Particularly it flashes staying OFF most of the time and flashing ON for 1 tenth...

Vizio M70-D3 4K with dark spots backlight issue
                      by Yanleb
I have a Vizio M70-D3 4K with a dark spots backlight issue. It is using the Y8387248A backlight driver board.

On this model each of the 64 transistor powers 2 LEDs. Using my TKDMR TD3H backlight tester I've determined that the backlight LED strips were the issue, and the backlight driver board was just fine. Some LED pairs required 5.9 volt at 155mA, some required 9.5 volt and some were completely open.

I've removed the LCD panel and once the LED strips were exposed I've tested them again by connecting my LED tester directly on the test pads. To my surprise all, I've...

                      220v Led strip flickering
                      by adelage
Hi, I am installing a long led strip and I noticed that it frequently flickers slightly, it is not a strong nor regular thing, but it is noticeable and annoying. I have measured the voltage of the mains and it shows some fluctuations, it normally stays at around 226v, but often (every few seconds) drops down to 218/219v), and the flickering happens exactly at the same time. I have measured this at the counter and with every appliance off, so it's not related to the house electrical system, but that's how it comes from the supplier.
I know that the best solution would be to get a voltage...

Is it no harm to replace with capacitor without ripple current rating?
                      by chth96
When I tried to repair LG 29 inch CRT TV, I found that the ESR value of samyoung SMS capacitor(160v 2.2uf), which is very close to D1879 transistor, is 6 ohm.

Judging from above ESR Meter Table,I think It is necessary to replace this sms capacitor. So I visited local electronics shop, and I purchased 160v 2.2uf rubycon YK capacitor.
But when I browse through rubycon YK datasheet,I found that there is no ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf specification. But On the contrary, I found 39 mA ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf SMS capacitor.
                      Rubycon YK DataSheet (b...

What LED's to Buy To Replace Backlight LED's and What Solder with LED's
                      by Tarot Superstars
                      Hello.

I changed the led strips on my Hitachi 32 inch.
The TV is now ok since I have already replaced any capacitors that needed replacing.

I have also bought a spare set of LED strips for the tv also.

I want to be able to replace singular LED's in the LED strips if I need to, but I am not sure what value LED package to buy from Ebay in the UK.

The LED strips I bought were:
Replacement Backlight Array LED Strip Bar For Hitachi 32HB6J61U 32HBT41U 32" TV

On ebay I have a choice of singular LED's with voltage and...
