I’ve remove d the led array, found a replacement new on Ali express for under £20 so have ordered that.
Found one Led not illuminating when I put voltage on it on the bank that’s dropping voltage so aaaume it’s that one thats bad but already ordered the array so will wait.

Ive noticed the same on the newer LG, they use a really big lens. I’m assuming they are too heavy for the fixing.

Yes I’ve just dropped to 20 and the light stays on.
The voltages on the led driver black cables have all gone up to 27ish volts except the one that was lower, that’s sat at 22v (they increases the lower the back light setting. Assume that these are returning voltage and are being monitored by the driver and if ones lower than the minimum it shuts off)
Slowly increase back to 100 and eventually the voltage drops to under 1v on that bank and it shuts off, The other 3 hover around 9v so assuming the led array has 4 banks of leds...Leave a comment:

42ls5600 backlight
Have a 42” LG edge lit tv that has a backlight issue
Tv comes on lights and sound for 3-4 seconds then back light shuts off.
I have 24v out to Led driver board. 3.5v to inverter on.
On the red wire with back light on I have 115v which drops to 24v when backlight goes out.
8.8v on 3 of the black wires when lights on which if the light stays on long enough goes to 20v drop to 0.7ish when off. The other 3rd from right goes to about 1.5v but if light stays on long enough goes to 14v.

Help 42lf651 suspect backlight fault
Hi all
I have acquired this set 42lf561 that was sold to me has having a duff bavklight
However when powering on the set it looks as the the back light is on but dim. (All the others I've fixed you'd struggle to see the image, this one not so) see pic.
Before I start stripping down the set just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue
and point me in the right direction

Update... tv is now working.
Disconnected tcon and the tv backlights came on and stayed on.
Reconnected tcon but disconnect ribbons, same... on and stayed on.
Reconnected ribbons one at a time and tried... on and stayed on.
Reconnected both ribbons so all back to how it was.... tv is on and staying on... not sure what caused it but suspect a bad connection on the tcon ribbons.

50/209 backlight issue
Hi all
I have the above mentioned tv
Symptoms are tv powers up and comes on with backlights for approx 10s then backlights drop out.
The led driver has constant 5v to blon and 24v to vbl but voltage out drops from 53v to 24v when the lights go out.
If I disconnect blon and refit whilst power is on the backlights come back on for 5s then shut off again.
If I disconnect one of the two ribbon to the back lights the back lights donas expected and flash On then straight off.
The fact that they come on and stay on for a little while makes me wonder... -

Hi guys.
I'm probably answering my own question here but I have the above mentioned set that had the clicking fault. I replaced the bad caps and the tv powered up. I noticed however the freeview wasn't working so I removed the main AV and replaced the eeprom.
Fired tv back up and now the picture is all funny, pink and purple etc. So I immediately thought tcon gone down t400hw01 as it suffers a similar fault.
Replaced tcon. Fault still there, tried new main AV, fault still there, tried a different psu and fault still there.
Just seems odd that it was fine until I...
