    Sharp Aquos 65" one-two blink code??

    I have a Sharp Aquos 65" (Model:LC-65D64U, Serial:807861227), all of the sudden no picture/no sound. Tried pressing the Input & Volume Down, then plugging in-still no picture/no sound. But I get the one-two blinking code. In other words, Power & OPC blink once, then only Power blinks quickly 2 more times. This code blinks over & over again, so I know it's trying to tell me something.
    I'm not an electronics expert, but do know how to fix things. I am fine with doing something like removing the back panel and replacing the power supply board. I'd rather replace an entire Board, rather then tryto isolate the exact part that may be at fault. But, don't know if the problem is the power supply board or some other board.

    Does anyone know what the one-two blinking code is trying to tell me. Would appreciate your help. Thank you, Jim

      Re: Sharp Aquos 65" one-two blink code??

      Hello Budm, thank you for writing back to me so quickly. I read the links you sent. I guess Service Manuel says this is my problem;

      Communication failure details (Power LED flashes 3 times and OPC LED flashes)
      --just not sure if this is the same as what is happening, which is; "Power & LED flashes together once, then Power flashes twice quickly thereafter. Then does this again & again"?????

      If above is correct, Service Manuel says my problem is;
      Regular communication that is performed at 1 second intervals
      in the normal operation is interrupted.
      Main CPU operation failure or monitor microprocessor's
      reception failure.

      But really don't understand what this means???

      There are not many Boards inside this TV. Is there a way the codes I mentioned; "Power & LED flashes together once, then Power flashes twice quickly thereafter. Then does this again & again" can tell me which Board to change????
      Was hoping for any easy answer

        If I were you I would check the DCV on the pins of the connectors first to see what is missing, ad report the reading in the format I suggested.
        I will have to download the manuals and read them in details first.

          Not sure if I understand, but aren't those "blinking codes" suppose to tell us what's wrong with it????????

            Yes, it give you a guide as where to start but you have to make it is the correct codes first.

              This is exactly what is happening;

              "Power & LED flashes together once, then Power flashes twice right after. It does this again & again"

              Anyway to know what the correct code is from this??????

                Do you mean the POWER LED and the OPC LED, right?
                So you have POWER LED flashes twice and the OPC flashes once.
                Power LED flashes TWICE, that will be the #2) Power failure details (Power LED flashes twice and OPC LED flashes), then the Column below is tell you the OPC flash's codes.

                  Green Power & Green OPC light flash once together.

                  Then, right after that, Green Power light only flashes 2 more times.

                  Does this sequence over & over again.

                    So that will be the POWER LED flashes 2 times + OPC 1 time.
                    PS-ON, DET_10V FAILURE.
                    PS-ON is generated by the main board.
                    10V is generated by the power supply board.
                    That is why you need DMM to test the Voltages and signals

                      don't mean to drive you nuts on this but, if Power & OPC flash once together, then Power flashes 2 more times afterwards.

                      Would that be a total of 3 flashes for Power & one flash for OPC?????

                        No. it is not the total count of the flashes if you look at the chart.

                            DMM = Digital Multi Meter
                            Cannot troubleshoot the problems without the meter, otherwise you can buy the power supply board and the main board and put them in to see if the TV will work, then you put in the old board one at a time to see which board is bad.

                              And instead of both, if I was to gamble and get one Board to start, which would you get?? Also, may have forgot to mention that I hear clicking, like it's trying to start-so, would that be the power supply board??

                                shop jimmy has the boards, its your gamble if you go that route. the voltages are needed to see where they stop and start. no way to tell without testing them.

                                    you need to check the 10v rail on the power supply.really check all the voltages from the power supply you should find them printed near the connectors. you have the service manual if not,list the connector, pin number and voltages you are getting in standby and if the set will switch on the voltages there as well.

                                      I assume testing voltages is done with the power off right??

                                      Anyway you can show me on a Board what I would test??

                                        Please think about it, where does Voltage come from if no power applied to the TV?
                                        If you have to ask then it can be very dangerous, we are dealing with the board that has Line Voltage that can kill you.
                                        So at least plug the TV in to the GFCI outlet to protect yourself in case you touch something that you are not supposed to accidentally.
                                        BTW, you how to use the DMM, right?

                                          I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
                                          It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

                                          So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
                                          After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

                                          Panasonic Plasma repair - TH-P60GT50 - Dead, 3 blink code
                                          by rmacintosh
                                          I aquired this Panasonic 60" plasma around the time my first child was born. It was meant to be a project tv, hoping to fix it chipping away at the repair in my free time. Well that was 2 years ago and i'm really just getting around to making a sincere effort to see if I can ressurect this beast.

                                          The symptoms of the tv ar as follows:
                                          • Plug AC in to back of TV
                                          • After about 2 seconds the relay on the P-sub board will click on and then a fraction of a second later it clicks back off
                                          • The 3 blink code is given by the power LED
                                          • If the TV is unplugged and then
                                          ...

                                          Sharp LC-80LE632U 2-5 blink code
                                          by SdlewisSr
                                          I have a Sharp LC-80LE632U with a 2-5 blink code. I have narrowed it down to the T-Con/Panel. I get the error if both or either ribbon cable is connected between the T-Con and the Panel. If I disconnect both ribbon cables, I get no error and the TV powers up just fine.
                                          Does anyone know if this is a definite bad Panel or is there a chance that the T-Con could still be at fault?

                                          by scubacamper
                                          I found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
                                          Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
                                          when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display...
