    Philips LC260WX2-SL01 Totally Dead

Hi guys. Got another TV that I need to troubleshoot. There's no signs of life at all, not even the standby LED.

I've measured the voltages on the power supply board - PLCD170P2, image here http://s13.postimg.org/4v59dy3o5/IMG_2992.jpg I'm getting 3.3v on the third and fourth pins down on the mainboard connector (right hand connector in the image). Annoyingly the pins on this board are not labelled, so I can't ascertain which is PS_ON. Grounding both of these pins briefly has not resulted in any other voltage outputs turning on.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or is there maybe someone with access to the schematic who might be able to identify the pins for me?

    Thanks in advance

Can we see good clear pictures of the bottom side of the board and also the whole back side of the TV so we can see how all the boards are connected together?

I may have that power supply here. I know this one is good the screen had bad backlights and customer didn't want to replace them. I will check and see but I am fairly certain it is the same

I've fixed this now I'm pleased to say. In case this is of any use to any one in the future, the problem was indeed a bad cap but not one that I expected. It was a small (approx 5mm diameter) 100uf. In the photo posted above it's either C236 or the one next to it. There was no visible fault but it measured only 60uf, which shot up to 80uf when warmed up with a hair dryer or my fingers.

Quite surprising really as I'm not used to replacing such small ones, and certainly not Rubycons, which it was.

                Thanks for the help everyone.

IME it is the smaller capacitors that are the most likely culprits in PSU failures.

Amazing! 6 years later and same fault, same cure. It's not C236, the 100uF cap is the one tucked up beside the standby transformer. My ESR meter just read >10Ω. I checked a few others for good measure, all seemed fine.
