Thanks for your help. B+ appears to be shorted to ground. PQ9, PQ10 and PQ11 are not shorted....

Acer Aspire E1-571 Totally Dead, No Power
Hi guys
I'm troubleshooting my Acer Aspire E1-571. It is totally dead. It will not turn on or charge the battery. There are no lights at all.
I get 19V at MOSFET PQ9, which is right next to the charger connector. But then I don't get anything more than 0.5v anywhere else on the board.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Philips LC260WX2-SL01 Totally Dead
I've fixed this now I'm pleased to say. In case this is of any use to any one in the future, the problem was indeed a bad cap but not one that I expected. It was a small (approx 5mm diameter) 100uf. In the photo posted above it's either C236 or the one next to it. There was no visible fault but it measured only 60uf, which shot up to 80uf when warmed up with a hair dryer or my fingers.
Quite surprising really as I'm not used to replacing such small ones, and certainly not Rubycons, which it was.
Thanks for the...

Replacement Cable Needed - Photo Included
Hello. Could anyone help me find one of these please? It is the display connector for a J2 615 screen.
It has a 40 pin, 2 row connector one end and a 20 pin single row connector the other. 22 wires plus a ground that screws onto the chassis (I could solder the ground wire on myself if necessary).
Thanks in advance.

No power unless plugged in for 20 mins - Philips LC260WX2
Hi all
Bit of an unusual one here. I have a Philips LC260WX2 which only shows signs of power after it has been plugged in for 20 minutes. Before that, it's completely dead, not even a standby LED. Once it kicks in, it works perfectly until power to it gets switched off and it is left to cool down. It will work normally for days as long as it is left in standby when not in use.
I've dealt with plenty of problems where TVs won't power on from standby, usually caused by bad caps, but this is the first time I've had a problem like this where it struggles to even take...

Re: Help Needed Identifying Component
According to the datasheet I found, it's a AIC1117 (search it for AK17P).

OK I've found the datasheet, but struggling to find the identical component for sale. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction?...

Re: Help Needed Identifying Component
I'm thinking it might be a voltage regulator. It appears that the middle pin and the large tab on the opposite side are connected if that helps.

It's physically burnt....

Help Needed Identifying Component
Hi guys. Hoping someone might be able to help. I have a small surface mounted chip that I need to replace. It is marked AK17P 240H5, and it looks like this: http://www.ic995.com/images/product_images/popup_images/1762_1.jpg
As you can probably tell I'm no expert, so usually in cases like this I just Google what it says on the chip, find a replacement and fit it. However in this case results seem to be vague and I'm struggling to find an exact match.
If anyone can link me to a...

Philips LC260WX2-SL01 Totally Dead
Hi guys. Got another TV that I need to troubleshoot. There's no signs of life at all, not even the standby LED.
I've measured the voltages on the power supply board - PLCD170P2, image here http://s13.postimg.org/4v59dy3o5/IMG_2992.jpg I'm getting 3.3v on the third and fourth pins down on the mainboard connector (right hand connector in the image). Annoyingly the pins on this board are not labelled, so I can't ascertain which is PS_ON. Grounding both of these pins briefly has not resulted in any other voltage outputs...

Re: Samsung PS50C450 Totally Dead
The board arrived today. Fitted it in 2 mins and the TV is now working perfectly again
Thank you so much for your help.

Re: Samsung PS50C450 Totally Dead
It was a BN94-03257U. Luckily the first one I came across matched it exactly.

Re: Samsung PS50C450 Totally Dead
I've managed to get hold of one that matches. For what it cost it's not worth spending any time searching for faults. I'll let you know how it goes when it arrives. Thanks again for all your help.

Re: Samsung PS50C450 Totally Dead
Brilliant, thank you!By doing that I get the screen test. So the main board must be faulty.
Is there anything worth checking on the mainboard that might be repairable before I buy a new one?

Re: Samsung PS50C450 Totally Dead
Apologies, I misunderstood your instruction. I was measuring Vs without having PS_ON connected to ground. I've now measured Vs at 212v.
The resistor I used is actually a 1000ohm not a 750 as I first thought, if that is of any relevance.

Re: Samsung PS50C450 Totally Dead
Thanks for the response.
OK so STD5V, as it is called on my board, gives me 5.26v. PS_ON to ground does indeed cause the relay to click.
I've connected a 750ohm resistor between STD5V and VS_ON. This is not giving me any Vs reading whatsoever. I've tried both boards and both give me the same result.
I'm measuring Vs to ground, is that correct? Also the STD5V and VS_ON seem to be on separate sockets, presumably this should be the case.
Thanks in advance.
