    RCA RLDED3255a-blown inductor/coil

I have an RCA 32" LED tv with no backlight. I did the flashlight test and there is video. I opened the tv and found a blown coil on the power supply. I can't find a replacement board for it. I inspected the back and the traces and pads are scorched but still good. I just have no idea what the value is of the inductor. I haven't measured anything to see what caused the blowup just want to know the value of the coil.

Did you ever figure out the value? I'm in the same situation right now.

The blown coil can probably be rewound by using enamelled wire of the diameter of that on the core and wind the same number of turns.

The problem is to identify and correct what device failed, resulting in the coil heating.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

There is a thread about that burnt up inductor, the op had to get the new core due to the heat damage to the core, it changed its characteristic of the core and it becomes saturated easier.
I need to search for that thread.

Could be any one of those diodes near the burnt coil could be shorting...Check that e-cap too.

Thanks Budm, that does make sense that it would have an effect on the ferrite material properties.
