Wow..seems something new to the community... i see that 2 other time on other laptops, replaced mosfets, replaced capacitors... but still the spike, is something related to the driver? any idea?
i can post more images about the signal before the inductor and also gates of the mosfets...
if this can help.. the Vcore is starting at 1 volt and after a while descending to 0.7/0.8 like usual on these kind of CPUs... the accurate variation of the voltage seems confirm that the drivers is working correctly... but from where come from the small spike? a small timing issue on high side...

Lenovo S145 -15iwl vcore inductor warm.. looking with oscilloscope there is a spike.
Hi, i have a Lenovo S145 that after 20 seconds shutdown and restart (it's working correctly on thse 20 seconds)
everything seems ok, but on Vcore inductor ( this is an i3 with just 1 switching power supply for CPU)
there is an output to teh CPU with a spike.. seems that inductor can't handle the input...
replaced the capacitor (330) and the inductor (R15) without any change
any idea? very thank you!
input of the inductor seems as usual... only strange thing is that the upper/lower voltages seems to be 21V (main power line is 19.3) ... but not sure this...

Yep, found the issue is something related to the PD controller of the Type-C connector, i can bypass the waiting time adding a 56K resistor to the CC1 signal (to ground) .. this make the port useless (can be used as a 2.0 with an adapter i think) but the laptop is now starting correctly.
very thank you for the BIOS, now i'm using the one provided by you.

Searching info of this PD controller: PS8743B (in a Toshiba Satellite PRO )
Searching info of this PD controller: PS8743B (in a Toshiba Satellite PRO )
the laptop is starting ONLY if a usb drive (or a mouse) is connected on the Type-c port.. leaving it empty hangs startup on DynaBook BIOS LOGO (never seen something like this)
searching for the VCC pin . .just to disable it without removing the chip.

the original eeprom i 127mb .. the "tecra" bios was 64mb (and also the one coming from yoo) ... SMDFlea do you think i can use a 64mb eeprom?
btw seems that right now the system is booting fast if i remove all subcards/keyboard/mouse/touchpad from teh main board (before with the original bios this is not happening)
P.S. or... the ME region is copied from the EC to and offset after the 64mb?Last edited by Bartoloni; 08-23-2024, 11:07 AM.

Toshiba Satellite PRO (european) A50-EC stuck on dynabook logo
This laptop stay on Dynabook logo for hours (after this boots normally to windows)
i have the dumped bios, and the bios that came from Toshiba Site
these are the same version ( 2.80 )
if any one can Rebuild a new one.. or better... has a dumped one from a working machine this can be great,
i think i will replace the EEPROM to avoid issues with it.
very thank you to all you guys!...

yesterday i reflowed the 2 chip on one side and the other 2 at the opposite side.. the error disappeared... now i'm testing the PC (that reach a very high temperature on CPU...) for some days

for who is interested here 2 photos, the error is at address 235c000..etc.. (and maximum address available is 261f000...etc) , so i think that is failing the 8th chip... anyone can spot where is the 8th ? (or can be the 7th?)2 Photos

i have 2 Huawei Matebook D14 NBB-WAH9Q with the same fault (errors on RAM chips)
looking at the motherboard there are 2 different sets of 4chip ram ( 4+4 ) and seems 2 different BANKS...
disabling 1 of the bank can solve the issue )leaving the laptop with only 4gb .. but working)
tried to find schematics but i have found nothing.
also no youtube video about this fault ( strange... 2 units with the same problem .. i was thinking is a common fault like RAM on ASUS X550)
any hints?
thank you in advance.
the board is DAH98NMB8C0 rev C HFLast edited by Bartoloni; 08-07-2024, 06:50 AM.

Re: Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15ADA05
Blinking power button (but working laptop) is related to an empty DMI section?
