    Samsung HPN5039 Power Supply BN96-00249A Rev1.2

Picked up a Samsung HPN5039 with a power issue. When I plug the set in I have no red stand by light. When I press the power button the red light comes on and have no picture. Note I don't hear the relay click either. When I press the power button again it flashes 5 times, then resets. Ive checked all the fuses which are good, and I've got 5v and 3.3v but no secondary voltages. I've unhooked the Y-Main and X-Main, to no change. There are signs that power supply has been recently serviced by a tech, which replace all the large caps and a few secondary ICs. Anybody familiar with this antique and what compents should I start testing? Note the 2 large caps that are missing in the secondary were pulled to test, and came back good.

have you checked the, bridge rectifier, fets , transistors, diodes on the power supply?these have a bad rep on buffer failure.

        Awyatt,

I tested caps, fets, diodes, transistors till i'm blue in the face. But I haven't tested the bridge rectifier. Is it located at the bottom of the board and to left of the AC input past the relay?

Hey everyone. I need some help if anyone is able to help me I have a power supply board for BN96-00249A and after looking up the schematic on the Internet I was trying to find out about a few things on my our supply board. There is an eight pin IC chip But it only has 7 pins! That chip burned out. Half the chip blew out and I can barely read the numbers on it. It says IEC2A280?? And right next to it there is a carbon film Resister that is burned out too. And I can't see what color the bands are on it( Green,Black,White, gold) and the schematic doesn't say. After doing a little research on it It says for the resistor 0.5 1W. I tried looking for the resistor and the IC chip but I had no luck in finding these parts I ordered another Power supply board the same model number from a dealer on the Internet and when I received it,I looked at the same parts that were burned out in my power supply board and the same parts were burnt out on this new power supply board. Lol. My luck. Can anyone please help me figure out what exact parts I would need and if RadioShack might have these which I doubt. Is there a difference for the IC chip?can I use a regular 8 pin IC-chip?? I would appreciate it for any help. Thanks

I forgot to mention when I was watching TV with this particular power supply board model BN96-00249A. I heard a loud pop. And the TV shut off. There was no standby light nothing it just died. So I took it apart and I found the problem on the power supply board. I took close up pictures of the IC chip and the resister that burnt out I'll try to post them so you can see what I am talking about but any help would be greatly appreciated

Here are two pictures of the same power supply board. the one with the really burned out IC Chip is the one I bought off the Internet from a dealer. The other picture is my power supply board, you can see the IC chip is burned out a little but you can't see the resistor that's why I posted the other picture because you can see it's burnt out.

I don't know why it didn't let me post the other picture. So I'll post it again. This is my power supply board model number BN96-00249A. IC Chip is burnt out and the resistor is burned out too. This picture is the power supply board I bought off the Internet from a dealer that was selling it,supposedly new. The parts that are burned out on this are the same parts burned out on mine. On the IC chip it has numbers ICE2A280. It looks like it only has 7 pins!! I was just wondering if this is a special kind of chip or can I use an eight pin chip?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                  Assuming...

                  by cheeky2
This Samsung combined power supply and inverter was replaced a while ago from a Samsung 37inch LE37B530P7W TV. However I would like to repair this one.
I have replaced the Mosfets Q1820 and Q1821 ( FDPF7N50U) which were both blown and the fuse FM802S. The schematic for this power supply that is attached doesn't relate to this power supply as the driving transistors and diodes are D1830, D1831, D1832, D1833, Q1811 & Q1810 are nowhere on the schematic!
Does anyone know what the components for D1830, D1831, D1832, D1833, Q1811 & Q1810 should be? I ask as I did change the Mosfets...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                  by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
