Sharp Aquos LED LC-70LE857U No Picture Help

    Hi All -
A guy I know gave me this 70" Sharp LED Aquos LC-70LE857U. It has no picture, sound, or backlight and has two slow and five fast blinks of the little light on power up. As far as I know, I am third person to attempt fixing this set. Previously, the power supply and main board have been replaced. From researching, I have learned that it could be a bad panel display, T-Con board, LED boards, or could still be a bad supply or main board.

Let's assume for starters that the supply and main board are okay.

After reading some threads on this site, I tried disconnecting the display ribbons from the T-Con board, and did the "force power up" (Vol -, CH +, Power) while plugging in the set. This allowed the backlight to power up for the first time that I have seen.

After reconnecting the display cables and powering up again, I got the same two slow, five fast blinks.

I do not see anything on the display with a flashlight.

So, do you think I have a bad T-Con board or Panel Display? (or something else?)

    Thanks!

You need to find out if you do have 12VPNL DCV or not first.

No 12VDC to run the T-CON then there will be no pcitures on the screen and then you will get and error because of the missing Voltage.

2-5 is panel failure on most of these sets.
Read THIS with regards to a potential fix: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=48477
However the longevity and reliability of this fix cannot be established.
It is a fair operation and cannot be reversed after being applied.
However so far it has fixed 2 or 3 of these LE7xx sets...

Also fixes e701i-a3 70 inch vizios using a Sharp lcd panel. I'm still going strong after nearly 3 weeks of hard use...

Luckily sharp implemented an error shutdown to prevent tcon damage. However vizio did not implement this overcurrent technology into thier mainboard. So tcon failure is imminent!

This should be a sticky! Lol

Thanks for the reply - just so I'm clear then, I need to measure between pins 2 and 3 on the KIA378Rxx LDO and check for 12V? This drives the T-CON board.

Wow! That's a long thread! After I verify my 12V, I'll dive in to this and see if any of the drivers have released the magic smoke. I was really hoping I would not have to pull this thing apart!

Is this your power supply board?
              http://www.shopjimmy.com/sharp-runtk...led-board.htm#

Just look at the PD connector pin 1 and 2 (they are electrically tied together) to see if you have 12VDC output, if you do then move on to the T-CON and the LCD panel.

Yes. Agreed. The LCD panel modification is a last resort. Do what Budm said check to make sure that you're getting 12 volts panel voltage to the tcon. If so its "operation" time..

If it's truly the panel. I see a trend here
