Does the screen glow at all when powered up ? May have to check in a dark room. And how do you know the buffers are good ?Comment

The screen doesn't blink nor glow. I really don't know if the buffers are good; someone suggested earlier in the thread that the Y-Main may be bad.Comment

Alrighty, see the pics. One is a crappy pic of the entire board, the other is a closeup of the white port on the left side of the board. I used the pin indicated to test each ribbon port, both sides. if a y main was really cheap maybe worth trying one you can always re sell it i guess but some times a crack can be really hard to see expecially if its right on the edge and is small.I suppose it depends on what the tv shop will charge to diagnose the fault.Comment

Y-Main is around 35 with shipping. I just wish there was something I could do to make sure that was it. Can you suggest anything I can do to test the Y-Main before I take it into the shop?Comment

I cant myself as never worked really on plasmas only ever fixed one myself but maybe tom or one of the other more experienced members may chime in but as the threads gone quite there probably all out of ideas too.Comment

im sure tom will chime in with some tests to do if this was my board i would be testing all the components on the heat sinks etc for short circuit devices etc.Comment

I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.
I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
