Panel resistor question

What is the effects of not using the exact same size resistors and possibly using to big of one or small of one? I got a TV with some blown resistors on the panel board(not replaceable) that caused it to not display the image.

Here is a pic of the other side of the panel with the good resistors so you will have a idea what I'm talking about. I would take a pic of the solder job but I know I'd be laughed at lol. The resistors that was replaced are the two(the bigger and one of the smaller) closest to the connector. But the TV is working again(for how long I don't know).

First of all, Sir. No one will laugh at you for attempting to solder a component on a circuit board no matter how ugly you may think it may look. We are here to help and encourage each other, so don't feel bad or anything. I myself and there are many others who will guide you on the right path.
From same size resistor....are you speaking in terms of physical size or Ohms size? If it is physical size there is no problem as long as there is room to accommodate it. If however the OHMS size is bigger then yes there will be problems associated with the working of the circuit.

Noted for the future. I know some forums people seem to get judged when they post bad soldering jobs. I was referring to size not ohms. I didn't even check the ohms. I'm not sure how I would check the ohms on the ones that are toast. Is that something where the resistor needs to be off the board to check? Or can they be tested in the circuit? I know size wise they aren't exact but are close.

So if they aren't correct ohms they could just fry again? Honestly I kinda rushed everything because I didn't actually think it would work. I was going to pull the parts and throw the panel out but over the past couple days I said the heck with it I'll try and replace them.

Looking at the picture, there is only resistor R116, the rest are CXX MLCC (Multi Layer Ceramic Capacitor) which usually failed as shorted circuit so it burnt up.

So the single black component is a resistor and the brown are caps? Guessing thats why there is a C at the beginning of all of them and the single black one starts with a R? If so I need to edit my post lol. I'm such a newb.

R = Resistor, usually has black body with numbers printed on top.
C = Capacitor, the MLCC usually has light brown color.
So what did you replace? C or R?

They had a C so they are caps. Didn't know that before.
