    Hi Moreno83 -

As luck would have it, I found a nearly identical and fully functioning TV (a TH-42PX75U) on the local ad site here and bought it for $100USD today -- about the same price as chancing it with a replacement A-board off of eBay. I haven't taken the back cover off of the new TV yet, but as far as I can tell from looking through the vent holes, the parts appear to be the same.

With that said, I think I want to continue with trying to get a replacement A-board or fix the A-board for the broken TH-42PE7U.

Out of curiosity, does anyone have any experience in debugging the A-board? I'd like to get down to the component level debugging, if possible.

Thank you for the help so far guys. I really appreciate it.

      Nice! Thats a cheap tv.

Could you try and replace the A board from the replacement tv? Just so we know that that was the fault. ( Everything points to it... ).
Trying to find the fault on the A board is very hard! You need the schematic and just follow the voltage lines until it stops. It can be a simple fault as a EEPROM....
I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

That was my initial thought as well. I'll have to find some time to do that. I'm currently leaning towards selling my broken TV, or taking a gamble and just purchasing an A-board if i find one for dirt cheap. The replacement 42" TV works. Lol.. i'm not entirely wanting to take it apart at the moment though .

Now with regards to the busted A-board... I found the service schematics from this site. That's the easy part. I'm thinking one of the BGA devices may have blown. If that is the case, that would be prohibitively costly to replace (and increasingly difficult to find replacement parts, especially if it is a custom device.)

Re: Panasonic TH-42PE7u - no blink code, no video, no audio

          Hi Guys -

Just following up. I was able to trace the issue back to the IC1100 component. I worked from the beginning of the attached slide deck until the problem was discovered.

The PANEL_STBY_ON signal from IC1100 does not assert high to the base of Q4015, Q4014 does not turn off, and no output voltage (2.5V) is seen at Connector A5/D5 pin 20. (See Slide 47 of the attached PDF). This is highly indicative that the A-board is the problem (and confirms our suspicions from earlier).

Now, i'm curious if anyone has any experience in repairing A-boards that can give me any pointers or additional suggestions before i purchase a new part for IC1100? I can replace the part just fine as i have the soldering equipment and I worked with fine pitch parts many times during my engineering career.

          The device has the marking:

          Panasonic
          MNZSFD7G
          735P72CD
          P P42

Looks like I found the part online for a few bucks from: http://www.utsource.net/ic-datasheet...2-1887922.html

Are there any resellers that are more reputable over another? Obviously not a Digikey or a Mouser site

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
              by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

panasonic TX-P50V10E 6 blink led problem
              by Vebririon
              Hi everyone,

I'm new here and trying to repair my Panasonic TX-P50V10E plasma TV, which is currently showing the 6 red blink error code.

Just for context: I'm used to building PCs and installing modchips in old consoles, but this is my first time trying to fix a TV. I'm French, and while my English is okay, I'm using ChatGPT to help translate and clarify my messages as much as possible — so please forgive any odd phrasing.

I'm also not very experienced with using a multimeter, but I'm very motivated and ready to follow instructions carefully and report...

              Panasonic TH-42PZ800 8-blink error mystery
              by nervx
Years ago my tv gave a 7 blink code which turned into 8 during diagnosis. I had ordered a replacement ss board but somehow the tv started working again and i never used the board. Now a week ago my tv flickered and shut off at random and gave the 8 blink error code. The same issue it had all those years ago. The only difference this time is that over the last few months there has been some purple and green tinge that comes and goes in more solid colors such as white.

Anyway i checked all the screws and replaced the ss board with a known good one and still got 8 blinks. I saw a...

              (Another) 7 BLINK TC-P60VT60 Panasonic - NEWBIE
              by SentraDude
Greetings from SoCal I am new to this forum but not new to forum world. I come from Automotive end of side which is my main passion in life. Give the automotive nature, I love fixing and restoring things and I have in the past fixed many simple electronics, soldering, etc.. but this is a bit more involved so I found this forum, and I am very glad I did.

I picked up a Panasonic TC-P60VT60 with the 7 BLINK error.
Upon removing the back plate I found spider webs, dead spiders, and an amazing amount of dust. I did my best to clean the surface of the boards with a portable vacuum...

Panasonic Plasma repair - TH-P60GT50 - Dead, 3 blink code
              by rmacintosh
I aquired this Panasonic 60" plasma around the time my first child was born. It was meant to be a project tv, hoping to fix it chipping away at the repair in my free time. Well that was 2 years ago and i'm really just getting around to making a sincere effort to see if I can ressurect this beast.

The symptoms of the tv ar as follows:
              • Plug AC in to back of TV
              • After about 2 seconds the relay on the P-sub board will click on and then a fraction of a second later it clicks back off
              • The 3 blink code is given by the power LED
              • If the TV is unplugged and then
