    (Another) 7 BLINK TC-P60VT60 Panasonic - NEWBIE

Greetings from SoCal I am new to this forum but not new to forum world. I come from Automotive end of side which is my main passion in life. Give the automotive nature, I love fixing and restoring things and I have in the past fixed many simple electronics, soldering, etc.. but this is a bit more involved so I found this forum, and I am very glad I did.

I picked up a Panasonic TC-P60VT60 with the 7 BLINK error.
Upon removing the back plate I found spider webs, dead spiders, and an amazing amount of dust. I did my best to clean the surface of the boards with a portable vacuum but will be using compressed canned air to do a more thorough job shortly.

I have completed the following evaluations:

    1. Tested for grounded leads on the SD & SU boards and found none
    2. Disconnect the SD board from SC board - Power on = 7 Blinks
    3. Disconnect the SU board from SC board - Power on = 7 Blinks
    4. Jump SC50 on SC board - Power on = 7 Blinks

At this time, based on what I have found, and if I am understanding it correctly, the suspect is SC board. I have removed the SC board and had a very close look at it but are unable to see any visual damage, burn marks or blown components. I have also not seen any noticeable signs of arching between the board and grounding screws. I would like to prove that the SC board is the issue, in perfect world identify the issue and attempt to repair it. If I am unable to repair it, I would like to identify the SC board to be an issue before purchasing a replacement.

Question 1: What is the proper procedure to prove the SC Board being the issue
Question 2: Is there a guide that I can follow to determine the component(s) on the SC board that are at fault.

UPDATE: I believe I just found my answer to Q1 & 2 above:

Thank you!! I spend about half an hour going through the 7 blinks troubleshooting flowchart in the TCP50s60 and realized my model is not specified in the models table, will it still apply? I followed the troubleshooting in the GPF16DU and it was short and sweet, at the end I still had 7 blinks. I believe this is due to VAD/VSCN. Is there a guide on checking these circuits ? Thank you !

If you haven't already check the transistors on the heatsink/s, at least a short test, make sure none of the pins test short to either of the other 2 pins of said component.

Unhook SU board and see if you still get 7 blinks, make all cable connections and dis-connections with tv unplugged from power, make sure all retaining/ground screws on all boards are tight not loose but not so tight as to crack a board, lock washers are recommended.

Good evening - and thank you!
I’ve done all of the above and with disconnecting both of the buffer boards I still receive the 7 blinks. I’ve tested all of the transistors and not finding shorted ones..

Received my new SC board today!! Is there a way to test the buffer boards while out of TV to ensure no shorts present ? Other than running meter along the buffer connections?

Testing example there, for sure test before you install, I made the mistake of not testing a used buffer board I bought, installed it, tv didn't work, took it out sure enough it was shorted, but since I didn't test it before hand, I had no way of knowing if it was bad to start or if my Y board knocked it out, so had to eat that cost: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6hxf9sARMY

Excellent !! Thank you so much - I just wanted to double triple check before hooking it up to power. SC board replacement repaired the TV.
