Re: Seiki SE39UY04 Red standby light, not powering on
I have a problem with these symptoms: Seiki SE39UY04 Red standby light, not powering on
I will start a new thread because I think that's what I'm supposed to do. But first I have to post my first post as a new member. That's what this is.

Thermal expansion due to heating and cooling can over a long period of time causes hairline cracks in the soldered joint resulting in an intermittent connection or even a burn up which is what you have , all you need to do is re solder the transformers pins with some fresh solder to prevent this happening again.Leave a comment:

What is a dry joint?
I fixed one monitor I had called hanspree 28 inch 3ms gaming monitor and it still works to this day. So I know how to solder. I just dont get what you meay by dry joint? Does this mean that though the solder was administered it did not join properly to all areas of the joint?Leave a comment:

Re: Seiki SE39UY04 Red standby light, not powering on
you might just want to re solder them any way , just in case dry joints on this transformer is a common fault in this model .It will prevent the same thing happening to the replacement board.Leave a comment:

BTW, when get the new board, inspection the solder joints on the legs of the transformers to the circuit board really well so it will not burnt up like the old board.Leave a comment:

Re: Seiki SE39UY04 Red standby light, not powering on
I ordered a new PSU and I will see if it fixes the issue and will post back to update this thread so at least it is useful in some way as there are no other posts for this model number on the forum.Leave a comment:

Re: Seiki SE39UY04 Red standby light, not powering on
BTW, this one looks like the AC input jack is damaged:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Seiki-SE39UY...YAAOSw6dNWT2RS
Do you think its just possible this guy, when pulling the back off, pulled on the AC input jack and bent it a bit?
I mean, between those two choices in eBay one has three pins connected and a straight AC jack and the other has two pins connected and a bent AC jack.
lol
What a choice. I suppose I could spend a bit more money
Edit: I have looked at a seller on eBay who has a lot of these boards and some of them have two and some three. I suppose it is just connected on some and not on others. But the board on the bottom even on shopjimmy appears that that pin hole is just a ground.Last edited by abeeftec; 02-19-2016, 04:52 PM.Leave a comment:

'If you look at the two boards in those eBay listings they are the same in almost every way.
In one of them two leads are connected and in the other three leads are connected in the area that is blown out in my board.
My question is... any idea why that is?'
Per shopjimmy picture, that 3rd pin is not used, so the on;y to know is to look at the bottom side of the board that has all 3 pins to see if it is an active pin or not.

Below are all my board. I tried two different lighting types in case it didnt show up well and figured I would supply a full picture of the PSU.

Figured I would just post the problem here because once I took the back cover off the problem became very apparent.

I think it is very obvious the PSU is bad. Usually it isn't this obvious.
So my question would be.
I have saw this board here.......

Re: Seiki SE39UY04 Red standby light, not powering on
The OP never come back after I requested for the Voltage readings.
You should start a new thread amd make sure to put make and model on the thread name, then upload good clear pictures of the whole back side of the TV so we can see all the boards, and pictures of each board.
Will do. ThanksLeave a comment:

Re: Seiki SE39UY04 Red standby light, not powering on
Have you figured this problem out?
I have this TV and I have a solid red light on at all times as soon as you plug it in and no picture. Remote does nothing.
What should I do?

We need to find out first as to what Voltages you have at the connectors as I suggested.Leave a comment:

Hello Everyone!
I have an Acer Aspire A315-42 laptop. I generally leave it on for long time by closing down its lid (so it enters the sleep mode). Recently, it rained quite heavily in out area. And the humidity and moisture seem to be high. So one late evening, after I opened the lid and turned on the laptop, it did power on as the blue light turned on but after it booted to the desktop screen, just 5-10 seconds after both the screen and blue light went out and laptop shut down (the blue power light turned orange). And after 2-4 seconds that orange light went off and the laptop died....06-28-2025, 02:57 PM -
Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power... -
by HughRThis problem description is a lot like https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...633#post898633
My Seiki SE39UY04 TV stopped working. I've used it for almost four years as a computer monitor.
Symptom: the status LED is solid red. I think that this means "standby". Pressing "power" on the remote and on the TV doesn't appear to change anything. Normally it would turn blue.
Inside, the only odd thing that l've noticed is a spot on the power supply board looks toasted. This is where one wire from the transformer joins the board.... -
by brithepi2kHi,
I’ve got a Sony KD-65XE8596 here that has no standby light coming on. I’ve tested the power board with the test meter, the TV needs 3.4 for the standby but only getting 2.4. Anything that I can change/check on the board to get it working? Pictures of the board are included.
cheers...5 Photos -
by AleMontiHi everyone,
I'm trying to troubleshoot and repair this old LG OLED curved TV, model 55EG910V.
I did some basic troubleshooting and reviewed most related posts here, but I wasn't able to isolate the issue.
The TV shut itself off during playback and never came back to life - the standby light remains off. My dad claims that it has happened a few times in the past but the issue resolved itself after some time. Not this one.
After checking the basics I did the following:- I measured all voltages and as expected the only active supply is the 3.5V standby. It
