This problem description is a lot like https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...633#post898633
My Seiki SE39UY04 TV stopped working. I've used it for almost four years as a computer monitor.
Symptom: the status LED is solid red. I think that this means "standby". Pressing "power" on the remote and on the TV doesn't appear to change anything. Normally it would turn blue.
Inside, the only odd thing that l've noticed is a spot on the power supply board looks toasted. This is where one wire from the transformer joins the board.
Here's a picture of the same model of power supply board, sourced from ShopJimmy.com:

I've attached pictures of the front and back of the burnt spot.
I think that the burnt spot is on the hot side of the upper transformer (based on the silk screening on the board).
What should I do?

What should I do?
- Try to resolder the connection, guessing that the burn is due to a bad (high resistance) connection? (What are the chances that a PCB layer is damaged too?)
- Buy a new Power Supply board? (They seem to be available, but not in Canada.)
- Try to figure out if something is drawing too much power across that connection?
- Other things that I haven't thought of?
