Seiki SE39UY04 Red standby light, not powering on

This problem description is a lot like https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...633#post898633

My Seiki SE39UY04 TV stopped working. I've used it for almost four years as a computer monitor.

Symptom: the status LED is solid red. I think that this means "standby". Pressing "power" on the remote and on the TV doesn't appear to change anything. Normally it would turn blue.

Inside, the only odd thing that l've noticed is a spot on the power supply board looks toasted. This is where one wire from the transformer joins the board.

Here's a picture of the same model of power supply board, sourced from ShopJimmy.com:
    https://assets.shopjimmy.com/media/c...0-3618-top.jpg

I've attached pictures of the front and back of the burnt spot.

I think that the burnt spot is on the hot side of the upper transformer (based on the silk screening on the board).

    What should I do?
    • Try to resolder the connection, guessing that the burn is due to a bad (high resistance) connection? (What are the chances that a PCB layer is damaged too?)
    • Buy a new Power Supply board? (They seem to be available, but not in Canada.)
    • Try to figure out if something is drawing too much power across that connection?
    • Other things that I haven't thought of?

Clean the carbon off, and remove any old solder if you can, then resolder it with new solder, (both connectios to the tranformer need resoldering) then resolder any other connections that look similar. Transformer pins and transistors that are mounted to heatsinks should be resoldered. that should fix it
The solder connection got weak over time and then started arcing, no big deal, once resoldered it will last for ever.

Thanks R J: it worked. I'm using the monitor to add this comment.

Strange! Acer laptop not powering on but charging the battery (orange light on when charger and battery plugged in).
        by serious_electron
        Hello Everyone!

I have an Acer Aspire A315-42 laptop. I generally leave it on for long time by closing down its lid (so it enters the sleep mode). Recently, it rained quite heavily in out area. And the humidity and moisture seem to be high. So one late evening, after I opened the lid and turned on the laptop, it did power on as the blue light turned on but after it booted to the desktop screen, just 5-10 seconds after both the screen and blue light went out and laptop shut down (the blue power light turned orange). And after 2-4 seconds that orange light went off and the laptop died.

LED TV Samsung The Frame 55 inch QE55LS03RAU Standby Light only
        by ChristianBr01
        Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power...

LG 55EG910V - no power and no standby light
        by AleMonti
        Hi everyone,
I'm trying to troubleshoot and repair this old LG OLED curved TV, model 55EG910V.
I did some basic troubleshooting and reviewed most related posts here, but I wasn't able to isolate the issue.

The TV shut itself off during playback and never came back to life - the standby light remains off. My dad claims that it has happened a few times in the past but the issue resolved itself after some time. Not this one.

After checking the basics I did the following:
        • I measured all voltages and as expected the only active supply is the 3.5V standby. It

Samsung QLED QE65Q7FNAT only standby light
        by Kaar3l
        TV: Samsung QLED QE65Q7FNAT
        PSU: BN4400940A
        MB: BN94-12832K

I got the tv in spring 2024. At that time it started, then ran 60 sec and poweroff. Seemed like reboot issue. I didn't have time and room to check it in summer so I plugged it in and now the standby light is on. I press button on remote, standby light goes off and tries to start?. No picture or backlight on LCD. I thought about removing diodes like in this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...sung-qled-q60r...

Philips 37HFL5682L/F7 no standby light, incomplete service manual?
        by jasonbay13
picked up a tv and when the power is plugged, the standby light flashes real quick then goes off. of 3.3, 12, 24v is all there but i couldnt find any 5v on the back-end board. ON/OFF is low, which it seems is what turns on the backlight so i removed the wire at the back-end board and put a 10k resistor to the 3.3v, which when plugged in brings on the backlight for a split second and also a blue light "LED1" on the inverter board, which goes off after a short time.
am i missing something to bring on the backlight or is the inverter/ccfl gone bad? would that cause the inverter board...
