Re: LG 37lc55 turns on few minutes later screen goes out
maybe worth taking all the power supply votages (usually marked on psu) then once tv goes black re take all power supply votages too see if any have dropped right out or got less in voltage.Leave a comment:

The screen goes off no matter what but once its been on awhile it only happens on HDMI I changed the tcon just in case and I'll take a photo of screen on from coldLeave a comment:

Re: LG 37lc55 turns on few minutes later screen goes out
yes if only happening on hdmi a mainboard change will probably sort it just make sure all the numbers of any stickers match up.
It maybe worth doing a trying a factory reset in service mode first though although im not sure on a lg how to do one but maybe a more experienced member will advise.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37lc55 turns on few minutes later screen goes out
So how do we diagnose the problem on the main board or is it worth just buying a new main board?Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37lc55 turns on few minutes later screen goes out
The problem was not going to be a fuse problem, it was into a test to see if the main board was providing the voltage to the tcon.
By the sounds of it you have a faulty mainboard.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37lc55 turns on few minutes later screen goes out
So this is where I'm at turn on TV and fuse reads 12.05top pin 12.03 bottom pin and when picture goes top pin reads 12.08 but bottom pin goes all over the place from 1-12.38 after a few minutes it regulated back to normal 12v area but once HDMI plugs in another few minutes down the road the screen turns to static the sound goes and it rotates between black screen and static removing HDMI fixes this straight away so is it a fuse problem?Last edited by Blueeyes; 07-01-2015, 04:37 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37lc55 turns on few minutes later screen goes out
Ok its 12.02 when it's just turned on then when I attach blueray player it goes to 12.22 and stays there till it goes off then drops to 12.19Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37lc55 turns on few minutes later screen goes out
It's coming on at 12.22 on dcv then drops to 12.17 but not noticed any other drops at allLeave a comment:

Re: LG 37lc55 turns on few minutes later screen goes out
No check voltage in dc volts, black probe to chassis ground red probe to one end of the fuse, it should be 12v when the picture is on, does it drop when the picture is off?Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37lc55 turns on few minutes later screen goes out
Ok done that and when pictures on its 181 when it goes drops to 131 using ohmz setting on dmm sounds gone this time with it so do you think it's the fuse?Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37lc55 turns on few minutes later screen goes out
Yeah screen stays on and backlight stays on just screen goes fuzzy or has lines or goes black but unplugging from mains then reattaching fixes the problemLeave a comment:

Re: LG 37lc55 turns on few minutes later screen goes out
Hamie, you are correct, sorry Blueeyes, for some reason I thought the entire tv shut down. That is my fault, I didn't read the information properly. Please ignore everything I just said up until now.
Then yes I would definitely do the voltage test on the fuse after the tv goes dark. That should be your first test.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37lc55 turns on few minutes later screen goes out
From his discription the TV isn't shutting down, the back light stays on. Just the picture goes. So I'd doubt the powersupply is at fault.Leave a comment:

If it is an over heating problem what's the fix replacing the board?Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37lc55 turns on few minutes later screen goes out
To check your voltage on both sides of the fuse you need a voltmeter. Make sure to set it to DC voltage, so the straight line not the wiggly line. Place your black lead on ground, and the red lead on one side of the fuse then the other. You should take this reading after the tv goes dark.Last edited by Nick's Tvs; 06-30-2015, 11:14 AM.Leave a comment:

by smic717394Hi,
I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on... -
by Rav_tangleHi all , thanks for having me & I think this has been asked before but my case seems a bit odd.
I have a MacBook Pro , board 820-2915a and it turns on , chimes etc etc , keyboard lights up, fans spins , can turn caps lock on/off but screen is dead.
Iv tried the resets , shine torch through back logo , nothing , it seems the screen has no power. If I plug charger , it charges but if I disconnect battery it displays green light but won't turn on. Iv tried screen on with another board & it works & seems I'm not getting any voltage at pin 2 , next to ground pin .
is this... -
by reformattJust had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".
It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...07-31-2025, 08:37 PM -
by krigehi all i was wondering if you could help me troubleshoot this laptop. i bought the motherboard off eBay. it is used. i fitted the motherboard into the housing of the gaming casing and turned it on. nothing shows up on the screen. i checked the connectors and no missing connectors. i also removed the graphics card and nothing on the screen. i even reflashed the bios but still nothing on the screen. can it be a corrupt bios? i even used the HDMI port but it also shows nothing on screen. could this be broken screen or a dead ec chip?...

by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... - Loading...
